Hello! My name is Miriam Co. I was born and raised in the Philippines. My husband is apastoral counselor and chaplain. We have two children: our daughter just finished university while our son is on his 3rd year in university. My family moved a great deal when our children were still young. We lived in the United States for a few years - in Atlanta, Georgia and Northern California - before moving to Edmonton. My family loves to travel, and revel in taking road trips. My husband and I enjoy exploring the different lakes and falls in Alberta especially during the summer time. Our 12 year old chihuahua named Penelope completes our family!

I have been Music Specialist for more than 20 years. However, my family decided I stay home with our children when we moved to the US and Canada. So for awhile,I taught applied music - piano and voice, and worked as a Children’s Ministry Coordinator, and choir director in our church in California and Edmonton. Classroom teaching is a passion of mine, so I decided to go back to teaching in elementary school when our son finished high school. I was part of the Bridging Program in the Department of Education at the University of Alberta when I was working on my Diploma in Elementary Education.

I am just in my 3rd year of teaching with the Edmonton Catholic School Division here at St. Francis of Assisi School. This is my second year teaching Kindergarten and I absolutely love it!

I am the teacher for Kindergarten-B. Your children are with me from 11:35AM - 2:50PM. I look forward to getting to know, and work with the Kindergarten-B families this year. Together, we will be able to help the KB’s develop their potential and usher them to success!

The kindergarteners will be learning through explorations- inquiry and play in the classroom.

Through play,children learn a wide range of concepts and skills that contribute to their emotional, social, physical, aesthetic, cognitive and even spiritual development.
