Welcome to our Church

For Internal Circulation Only 27 December 2015

Jeremiah 6:16a: This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the cross roads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Rooted in the Living Word Empowered by the Holy Spirit Abiding in Christ only Daring to Hope and to Love Yielding Fruit To God’s Glory

Luke 13:6-9

6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”

One more year to:

1. Repent and Believe the Gospel (for Unbelieving Israel and Individuals)

Mark 1: 15

2. Remain and Bear Fruit (for Christians)

John 15:4-5

3. Return and Bear Testimony (for Churches)

Rev 2:4-5

Questions

1. If you had one more year to live, why would your eternal destiny (if you are not a believer of Christ) or that of people who matter to you (if you are a believer) be the priority issue to settle?

2. How much of my idea of spiritual fruit matches the way it is defined in the Scriptures? Evaluate your own level of fruitfulness in light of that and what more can be done that you have not already done?

3. In what ways is it possible for a church to be hyperactive in programmes and yet superficial in spiritual passion? If that’s the con-dition, what’s the cure?

Topic: One More Year (Luke 13:8) Speaker: Brother Kenneth Wong The quiet week between Christmas & New Year is often a time of quiet mus-ing over yet another year coming to an end while on the threshold of the next approaching one. There may be thoughts of things we would like to say good-bye to - “not another year of…” and there may be things we would like to see more of – “for another year of…” May these musings from the Scriptures be the means of motivating us to do what God requires of us for the year ahead.

Grow@Noon Activities The G@N Carolers were at the foreign workers dormitories to spread some Christmas cheer on 19 Dec.

Both these letters emphasize the Coming of Christ and the practical effect it should have on us as we live out “Our Certain Hope in an Uncertain World”
