Welcome to Riddermark!Riddermark Farm, just South of Jackson, MI, is theperfect home away from home for you and your horse!

Here at Riddermark, we focus on providing experienced,personal care for every horse. We know that each horsehas unique needs and we work to meet those needs,with individualized feed plans, turnout schedules, andgeneral care.

LocationRiddermark Farm is located in Clarklake, MI, 10 milesSouth of Jackson. Half a mile from US127, access iseasy and convenient, without the farm being rightalong the major highway. The farm is surrounded byhay fields, horse farms, and hardwoods.

The NameThe term “Riddermark” comes from the works of J.R.R. Tolkein, and refers to the riders andland of Rohan, home of the horse people.

Individualized CareAt Riddermark Farm, the focus is experienced, personal care for each and every horse. Weare willing and able to accommodate any number of personalized feed plans, as well ascustomized turnout and personality-matching of any horses to be turned out together. Primary caregivers all have 30+ years experience in caring for horses.

Lessons with Jessie MyersChampionship Rider Jessie Myers of Breakthrough Dressage isavailable to give on-site lessons for both horse and rider. Though herbackground is in dressage, it is Jessie's belief that the principles ofdressage have applications well outside their traditional arena. She iscurrently applying dressage techniques in the training of Western pairMissy and Amy. For more information, visit Jessie's website atwww.breakthroughdressage.com.

Farrier-Cindy EvansObviously, everyone is welcome to bring whomever they wish to care for any horse on thegrounds, but for those of you who would like to take advantage of her services, Cindy Evansof Complete Hoof Care in Napoleon MI is a regular visitor. Every six weeks, she stops in totrim hooves and changes shoes. She is also available between visits for additional tasks.

Veterinary CareAs with farrier work, any and all vets are welcome on the Riddermark Grounds, and yourpersonal vet will be first to be notified should any problems arise. In addition, Dr. RichardHammer of Countryside Veterinary Service has been makings calls to the farm here sincebefore the barn was constructed.

Dr. Thomas Johnson, owner of Advanced Equine Dentistry and former adjunct professor atMichigan State University also makes annual visits to take care of the horses' dental work.

JesseIn Stall One is permanent resident Black Diamond Jesse. Jesse,as he’s known around the barn, is a Percheron/Thoroughbredcross, with the size and beauty to prove it. He is currentlytraining with Jessie and Tammy for Dressage Competition. Theymade their show debut at Stoney Ridge in June of 2007.

SobeHailing from the Netherlands is Anna’s dark beauty Nyk FanDe Grovestins(Sobe). A 17 hand fresian, Sobe is as easy-goingas they come, and gentle enough for Anna’s 6 year olddaughter to ride (with Mom’s help of course!). Sobe and Annaare currently conditioning and training with Jessie.

MissyRiddermark isn’t just for Dressage! Paint mare Missy proudlyrepresents the Western side of things with owner Amy Lancaster and trainer Jessie Myers and making good use ofDressage principles in a non-dressage discipline.

JokerFull brother to Jesse, Joker is just as beautiful and has beentrained to USDF Dressage Level 2. He is currently for sale (toan exceptional home!). Contact owner Dr. Ulrike Klotz formore details (517-).

BlueLippizzan/Thoroughbred cross Blue and owner Debi Osbornehave been training hard with Jessie and will be showing firstlevel this year. They also made their debut at Stoney Ridge inJune 2007.

ShadowThough she's not technically a RiddermarkResident, Mini Shadow can often be foundin the arena with rider Audrey, Anna'sdaughter. Cute as a button, she loves tohang with the big boys at the farm.

FacilitiesFrom the moment you walk in the door,you’ll feel at home in the warm expanse ofthe stable aisle or spacious arena. A quickglance at the dry erase board outside thetack room will tell you of any upcomingevents, scheduled vet/farrier visits, personalmessages, or other information you mightneed.

Each of the six stalls is equipped with easy access feedand water buckets and a large window into the aislethat can be opened or closed as necessary. Designedto be easy on the hoof, stalls are bedded with woodpellet, which is cleaned daily. In addition, each stallhas a fan which can be used in the summer both tocool down and keep away flies.

Just down the aisle from the stalls are the utility spaces of thebarn. From the impeccably neat feed room and the well-equipped tack room with large personal lockers to the on-sitebathroom and wash facilities for both horse and rider, you’ll findeverything you need here.

Behind the main barn area is thefull-sized indoor arena. With sandfooting, crisp white kick boards, and Dressage ring pointsmarked on the walls, it is a fantastic place to ride for peasure ortraining. There is also a large dry erase board on the wall forjotting down quick notes about lessons, etc, as well as a viewingarea for spectators, also equipped with a dry erase board
