Stress the importance of credits in high schoolIf a student fails a class they fall behind for graduation- different from middle school
• How are Credits Earned?• Every class that is passed with a D or better each semester
earns 5 credits.• Students should be earning 30 credits a semester or 60
credits a year• How many credits are needed to graduate?
• 230 credits needed• How will my student and I know how many credits have been
earned?• Progress reports and final semester grades• Each year counselors deliver two classroom presentations to
walk all students through reading their own transcript and understanding what they need to graduate.
School policy allows level changes up to the first 5 weeks of the semester (only 2 weeks into 2nd semester)• For example: moving from World History
Honors to World History College Prep Elective changes are not allowed
• For example: moving from Woodworking to Drawing and Painting
Teacher changes/requests not allowed
Progress report every 5-6 weeks Final semester grades December and
June. Edline- students will receive code in
their English class Always contact teacher first with
