Net Calculator

Goal is to give a family an estimate of the actual cost of attendance for one year

Required on each college’s website

Just an estimate and often an underestimate- not all institutions package the same way

Be Aware of Scams

Page 38: Welcome to Senior College Night

Now is the time to have a discussion

If you have strong preferences or limitations with regard to:

• costs• distance/travel options• location near family • or any other factors

Do not wait until after your student has

applied and possibly been accepted to express these limitations.

Even if it is not apparent, students are aware of college costs and they do worry.

(Discuss viable options now rather than in April.)
