ALLOCATION POLICY 2013-2014 New Full time Home & Eu U/G & P/G

Accommodation packs will be sent from end of March 2013 onwards to students who have firmly accepted an offer to study here for 2013/14. We are able to offer University allocated-accommodation to around 75% of these new students with places normally allocated within faculty quotas in order of receipt of the accommodation application in Student Housing.  Where possible, applications will be allocated to their highest available preference of accommodation, subject to availability. Applicants who are unable to be offered a place in University-allocated accommodation due to Faculty quotas becoming full will be given help and advice on finding private rented accommodation through online resources and housing support events held throughout the summer.

MONEY MATTERS

• If you are allocated to halls of residence you will be asked to pay £250 to secure your room – usually 2 week deadline of receiving allocation notice in July 2013. Advance rent refunded in full if you are no longer coming to UoP and cancel by deadline in late August (TBA).

• If you go in to the private sector the landlord will usually ask for a deposit and one months rent in advance which can = about £700

• This all needs to be paid a long time before you get your student loan so...........
