Where possible, HOPE works in conjunction with local believers and the local Church. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is a ministry of compassion and hope. This year we are going to donate to the specific PDA cause of the southern tornados that occurred from January 21st through the 23rd. During that time 29 tornados struck across 6 states. PDA responds to natural and human caused disasters that would otherwise overwhelm a community’s ability to recover. Although, after a disaster, life for many may never be as it was before, PDA is confident of God’s power to redeem, for “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it”. (John 1:5). Please prayerfully consider this giving opportunity. You may give your donation in the tan envelope you received in the mail or in one found in the pews or on the Narthex information counter. Easter Flowers TODAY is the last day to contribute towards the Deacon's Easter Flower Fund. If you would like to contribute, please fill out an Easter flower envelope found in the pews or in the narthex on the information counter. Enclose cash or check (made payable to the Supplee Church) place the envelope in the offering plate. A donation of $10.00 or more entitles you to pick up a plant after the 9:30 a.m. service on Easter. Please include your dedication and whether or not you will pick up a plant.

Stewardship and Finance

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee We hope you are enjoying the start of the spring season. With the change to warmer weather, let us pray that God evokes in us a blossoming faith and renewed dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ. Financially, we have started 2017 in a slow manner. With the incredible giving in December, we were not surprised with a slow January or even February. However, the low levels of giving have continued into March. For the 3 months ended March 31, 2017, our actual giving was $94,549 versus the prior year of $104,106. This is concerning because 2017 is following the trend of a slow start to 2016 and 2015. We know the timing can vary for our giving and we know many members and friends are continuing to regularly give. More than ever, we need to ask all members and friends to give on a consistent basis. In April, please make up any shortfalls to your pledged amount, or if you did not pledge, now is the time to make your 2017 offering.

Three Months Ended March 31, 2017 and 2016:

Actual for 2017 Actual for 2016

Contributions $ 94,549 $104,106 Operating Exp. $112,560 $116,362 Shortfall $(18,011) $(12,256)

Help Needed - The Evangelism Committee is asking for your help. If you would be able to make cookies, muffins or quick bread to take to people who have visited our church, please call or email the church office. Also if you are willing to deliver to visitors please let the church office know. Contact Rick Sands at 215-442-1332 with questions or for more information.

Electronic Giving - We hope you will look into signing up for the ACH Electronic Payment option to make your contributions to Supplee. No more searching for your checkbook and envelopes on Sunday! It is a great way to stay up to date with your pledges and it allows the church to maintain a more level cash flow throughout the year. We can accept contributions via ACH for General Fund, Missions, Property, and Deacons. Forms are available on the table in the Narthex or on the church website. Please contact Adrienne Basara with any questions you may have. You can reach Adrienne by phone at 215-646-4123, Ext. 15 or via email at [email protected].
