OUR SPECIAL EFFORT THIS LENT 2017 STATIONS OF THE CROSS commencing this Friday 5pm…lead by the O’Connor leaders: Madeleine Murtagh, Eliza Clark, Drew Thomas, Tom Frazier, Damian Roff & Regina Menz…. next Friday St Mary’s Primary: Chloe Lincoln, Nick Newsome and Claude Toakley…. ‘40 FAMILIES FOR 40 DAYS’ LITURGY DURING LENT There will be extra masses during lent to allow for families to attend… don’t forget ‘40 FAMILIES FOR 40 DAYS’ signup forms on pews from this weekend. ROSARIES THIS WEEK: MON 27 TH FEB, 12 noon Angelus followed by the rosary prior to the 12.30pm Mass; TUE 28 TH FEB in the home of Carmel Rogers, 8 Werrina Cres at 4pm; WED 29 TH FEB, 12 noon Angelus followed by the rosary prior to the 12.30pm Mass. OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS… This Sunday’s 5.30pm Mass will be a Family Mass with participation from O’Connor Catholic College. There will be two Family Masses at the Cathedral per school term: Sunday 26 th February; 26 th March; 28 th May; 25 th June; 20 th August; 17 th September; 12 th November; and 10 th December. ALTAR SERVERS FOR HOLY WEEK & EASTER LITURGIES…preparations are now beginning for the Holy Week and Easter Liturgies. Families who have rostered altar servers are asked to please contact the Parish Office of your availability for these Services. Thank you. 6772 2218. HOW DO WE “DO” LENT IN OUR PARISH 2017?? Catechumens prepare for sacred Christian Initiation at East Vigil……. Join the ‘40’ Families for Forty Days by bringing your family to attend one of the daily Masses Monday to Friday during Lent…families to commit to one Mass during the 40 days of Lent. Signup forms will be available on the pews. By joining one of the Lenten programs advertised. Purchase a copy of ‘Five Minutes with the Word’, $2 – daily readings through Lent. By joining “Sunday Afternoons in Lent” - (Scripture reflection with the priests) – register at Parish office. (Fr Tim McCarthy Meeting Room) …. The sacrament of Penance/ Confession/ Reconciliation during Lent. By Fasting and Abstaining on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday (and abstaining from meat on all the Fridays of Lent! In response to the Bishop’s call for us to make reparation for sin of Child abuse in the Church).
