Instituto Cervantes is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote the language and culture of Spain and other Spanish speaking countries. It is the largest organization in the world concerned with the teaching of Spanish, and it maintains a presence in over 44 different countries throughout 87 centers. We offer affordably priced Spanish language classes; special courses for corporations or professionals, children and teachers; and cultural enrichment courses for those who wish to enjoy the cinema, literature, music, art, dance, of the Spanish speaking world. We are conveniently located at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Our experienced teachers are highly qualified, native speakers of Spanish. We offer day, evening and Saturday classes in our comfortable and spacious classrooms. Our small classes of 6 to 14 students provide ample opportunities to practice conversation. Our teachers are certified in Spanish as a foreign language. They are from different Spanish speaking countries which gives our students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with different Spanish accents.

We offer a wide variety of courses at all levels with convenient schedules, affordable prices, state of the art facilities and effective teaching methods to get you speaking Spanish from day one!

This level is for students with no prior knowledge, or a very basic knowledge, of Spanish. Students will understand and use familiar expressions, communicate basic phrases used in everyday situations, introduce themselves and others, and ask or answer simple questions.

Understand and employ full sentences and frequently used expressions in personal, shopping, local environment, and employment contexts. Learn to describe routine tasks. Describe your background, immediate environment and current situation in simple terms.

Learn to formulate simple, connected sentences on familiar or interesting topics. Understand and employ descriptions of commonplace situations at work, school or leisure. Describe experiences, events, hopes, and ambitions, or briefly give reasons for opinions and plans. Students will be able to communicate at a basic level while traveling in a Spanish speaking country.

The Diplomas DELE are official qualifications certifying the degree of competence and mastery of Spanish, granted by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. The DELE examination provides for all the different variants of the Spanish language. The DELE examinations have been designed following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe, which ensures a practical way of establishing a standard, international and objective measurement of the level that should be reached at each teaching stage, and in evaluating results.

SIELE is the International Assessment Service for the Spanish Language), promoted by Instituto Cervantes (IC), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) and Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). SIELE certifies degree of proficiency for the Spanish language with four tests: Reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction and Oral expression and interaction, and takes as reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) from the European Council (A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1). CCSE

The most relevant information on the CCSE tests (Constitutional and Socio-Cultural Knowledge of Spain). Passing this exam has become a mandatory requirement for all people wishing to obtain the Spanish nationality.

DATES OF CCSE EXAMS AND REGISTRATION PERIODSThe CCSE exams are held the last Thursday of each month, except in the months of August and December, when there will be no call. In addition, candidates will have two different schedules, so that they can choose the one that best suit their needs, at 18:00 or at 20:00.
