Dear Family,
As we move into the fall season, I wanted take the time and
speak to a couple of adjustments to my approach to being
the pastor of three parishes. As of right now, we still do not
have any news about the arrival of Fr. Jose Thomas, who
will serve as a full time associate pastor (parochial vicar) of
the three parishes. We continue to pray for his situation to
change and for his swift arrival. I have been keeping Bishop
Joseph informed about the status of our situation on a regu-
lar basis.
Regardless of any additions or changes to our current situa-
tion, I feel a need to get into a rhythm of scheduled pres-
ence in our parishes. Starting next week I am designating a
set day for each of the three parishes, with a block of of-
fice hours. Obviously, anybody who wants to meet with me
one on one, can still do so by calling or emailing Carol Reis-
ing, but being intentional about a block of time is important.
Please note that having three parishes means that events
that require my immediate attention are prone to happen
and it may disrupt this schedule and hours, but at least we
will have a regular schedule. Below is the schedule:
Tuesday Office Hours at St. Philip: 9am - 2:30pm
Wednesday Office Hours at Corpus Christi: 9am - 2:30pm
Thursday Office Hours at St. Matthew: 9am - 2:30pm
My goal in all of this is to effectively minister to all three
parishes as your pastor. Please continue to pray for me and
for our staffs. I love you all very much.
In Heart of Christ, Fr. Dusty Burns
