First Sunday of Lent March 10 2019

LIVING THE GOSPEL

First Sunday of Lent There are times in our lives when, like Jesus, we find ourselves alone and hungry in a wasteland. It is tempting when all is dry rock and rubble to put our faith in things that offer comfort and security. The Scriptures today invite us to put our trust and faith in God, the only one who can save us and give us life. We must reject the temptation to make “gods” of or to place our trust in material goods, power or control.

Of each dollar collected in CRS Rice Bowls, 25 cents stays in the Diocese for serving our community. We ask the Holy Spirit to accompany us and inspire us as we spend these 40 days in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving supporting our brothers and sisters worldwide.
