Student helpers bring the books to the library for check-in. Mrs. McDonald or a volunteer checks in the books first thing in the morning.
Sometimes students bring books during class. Each barcode is scanned in the “check in” screen on the computer. We must watch the screen closely when checking in books. If you don’t see the book title appear on the screen, check that there is a cursor in the entry box.
Then books are grouped and placed on the shelving carts for volunteers to shelve.

Straightening and Reading Shelves
•As you re-shelve books, you will find some books that are mis-shelved. Please correct this as much as you can.
•If you run out of time, pull the mis-shelved books and place them on the shelving cart.
•Also, try to straighten the books and the magazines as needed. Students like to push the books to the back of the shelves.
•Pull the books to the edge of the shelf and use book ends when you need them.
•Keeping the shelves straight and organized helps everyone find books easily.
