Welcome to the town of citrics.

¿Do you remember mandarinas? this fruit is very typical in this season and it is also one of the most wanted by people. Our town is also the principal city that provides several fruits to the hole country.

The region of the current municipality of La Concepcion in 1849 was temporarily inhabited by planters of tabacco and cereal of the department of Managua, in makeshift houses they stayed during the year working their crops.

In April 8th 1889 through a legislative law the town was stablished under the common name of La Concepcion

By legislative law in August 21 1956 the old town was

recognized at the political level as Villa de la Concepcion.

In San Ignacio, a hood in our town, people have a now a new Bakery Cooperative that creates new jobs and several kinds of food and more. This reciently company was an effort from La Mariposa Escuela de Español and people who lives in this place

The festivities are held from 8 to 18 February, 8 being the day on which hits the top of the venerated images of San Juan de La Concepciòn, San Marcos employer in the municipality of San Marcos and the virgin of Monserrath instead of batteries or sapasmapa picture is taken in procession through the city streets on 9 February

During the religious festivities of La Concepcion and communities is awarded the traditional Masa de Cazuela with their respective chicha de maiz.
