Following the Cantata please join us downstairs for a Christmas Luncheon and Santa may be in attendance! Please let Cheri or Cindy Landanno know what you can bring for the lunch: finger sandwiches, cold side salads and desserts!

† December 18th- Ladies Fellowship: Sign up for our annual “Christmas Cookie Swap Party” Wednesday December 18th at 6pm. Hosted by Paula Whitaker at her home. You are asked to make 4 dozen cookies to share and take 4 dozen cookies home with you; while we sing carols and sip on tea and enjoy each others company for the holidays! THE SECOND SUNDAY IN ADVENT: The Bethlehem Candle Waiting is hard in a fast-paced society. We want the stoplight to change quickly, the grocery line to move fast, and Christmas morning to arrive soon. We forget that before good things happen, preparations must be made. Last week we lit the Prophecy candle and remembered those who first spoke the promise of the coming Christ child. The second candle on the Advent Wreath is called the Bethlehem candle. It is a symbol of the preparations being made to receive and cradle the Christ child. God can use all people and prepares each one to fulfill a place of service for Him. Two candles, burning bright, chasing away the darkness from light. Two candles, glowing light, The blessing of God, giving new sight. Scripture: Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” Prayer Heavenly Father, in this very busy season with so many things to do, help us to hear your voice calling us to prepare the way for our Lord and Savior Jesus. Call us to repentance. Live in us by your Spirit that our lives will produce good fruit to the praise and honor of your name. Amen.
