What is Web, MultiMedia Technology, and Design?ATC’s Web Design/Multi-media course is designed to train students in the art of building web sites as well as developing web-content from storyboard to Internet.

This course covers both technical and creative aspects, allowing the student to have the knowledge they need to function in the ever growing and competitive world of Business, Computers, and Design Technology.

The Program is divided into courses for adult students and Terms for High School Training. Each student has the opportunity to practice and retain skills learned, experiment, and build their own personal portfolio. This will help as an essential tool finding a job in today’s job market.

What is Broward Blackboard In order to alleviate the stress of submitting your assignments to your instructor we have the opportunity to use Broward Blackboard. This is a website that makes submitting assignments easier, all you have to do is upload your finished class assignment into the drop box under its appropriate category.

Students sign into their online course, at http://broward.blackboard.com .

Please email your instructor when joining the online class with your e-mail and your course information. Your e-mail address is required to communicate with your instructor. This needs to include your name so that your e mails may be identified. Please use and email that reflects your ‑business communication and not communication for friends and family. Any e-mails that cannot be identified as coming in from a current or prospective student will be DELETED. Have a subject in the subject line to identify the nature of the email.

media field. The certifications are a written authentication of the students qualification in the course of which your child has studied. It is also a far more effective means by which to validate the students experience to the employer as opposed to simply putting their qualifications on their resume.

What is a Ready to Work Credential?

• A Ready to Work Credential is awarded by the state of Florida to anyone who has successfully achieved required scores on designated assessments. Recipients will be considered equipped with the level of skills needed to meet employment, as well as postsecondary expectations. There is no cost to participate in this program – and students who earn the credential will be recognized at graduation.

What assessments are required to earn a Ready to Work Credential?

Mastery of three (3) WorkKeys assessments must be demonstrated in the areas of:

• Reading for Information• Applied Mathematics• Locating Information

What are the three levels of Florida’s Ready to Work Credential?

• BRONZE—minimum score of 3 or more on all three assessments

• SILVER—minimum score of 4 or more on all three assessments

• GOLD—minimum score of 5 or more on all three assessments

What is the process for earning a Ready to Work Credential?

• You must have a username (First Letter of First Name + Last Name +Last Digits of Social Security Number (all caps no spaces) and password (Last four digits of your social security number or entire number) to access Ready to Work site.

Work Habits GradesThe grade for work habits includes attendance, tardiness, attitude, and professionalism. Any absences must be reported to the high school attendance secretary by a parent or guardian.

Journal and Daily ActivitiesThe daily activities grade includes all homework, class work, online quizzes and journal assignments. A journal topic is given and the student is responsible for writing a minimum of five sentences which are due every five days or per instruction. Electronic notebooks will be evaluated several times during the term. Hard copy notebooks should be set up as follows: General Section: Syllabus, Work Habits, and Teacher Hand-outs, Projects Section: Oracle projects, Vocab. Tests and Definitions and all materials returned, Notes: Notes you take in class, study guides, and "You Solve It" exercises. Notebook Check: Be prepared to place notebook in teacher drop box for grading. File naming rules for submitted work: lowercase firstinitial_LastName_projectName.extention.

Written TestsYou MUST pass all tests with 70% or better to be successful in the Oracle Internet Academy. Failure to take tests as scheduled will result in a 10% per day reduction in grade. Makeup tests must be taken within one week of the original test date; the grade is averaged with the original test. Objective exams are online.

Class Projects Since the program is competency based, you must correct all errors and resubmit your work until it is correct. Each time your project is submitted with errors, the grade is reduced 10%. No late work will be accepted. Incomplete work is given a grade of zero.

Class ScheduleThe daily class schedule is posted on the Internet at Teacher Directed web sites or posted in student drives. Assignments and due dates will be posted and a hard copy can be printed.

Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) Internship – Magnet students only

Magnet students are members of the AOIT.

Students must complete a internship

The internship consists of 150 hours of documented employment and can be completed during the summer or by working part-time during the school year.

The student will be required to obtain employment, complete a portfolio and have satisfactory evaluations to receive credit for the internship.
