We are starting this year with a difference.

The start of this Autumn term all classes will

be online. You can now enrol on our

September classes. Our aim is to provide face

to face classes as soon as possible and when

it is safe to do so. The first classes to return

will be those practical classes which we are

unable to deliver online such as pottery and

stained glass, these classes will start after ½

term. Booking for these classes will start in

September. Other classes will follow in

January 2021. We will continue delivering an

exciting range of courses both online and

face to face over the coming months.

Changes will take place slowly and in line

with advice from the Welsh Government. I

hope we can welcome you to continuing

learning online or in person. Thank you all

for your continued support and for the

positive messages we have received.

Accessibility

Our courses are inclusive to all learners. Reasonable

adjustments will be made to make courses accessible for you to

enjoy learning on a course of your choice. Every effort will also

be made to support learners who require adaptations to their

resources.

Learners with additional needs can access discrete courses on

the two DICE (Disability in Community Education) programmes.

We are planning to start our DICE learning for life courses up

again after ½ term. DICE courses are designed to increase

social skills, confidence, health and wellbeing.

Pottery classes - £60 full fee, £46 reduced fee for 5 weeks. Extra charges may apply for materials including

paper, clay, glazes and firing, lead, glass and silver, fabrics and cottons, photocopying.

REDUCED FEES

If you are entitled to a reduced fee you must show evidence of your benefits – either a recent

DWP letter or bank statement at your first class.

You are entitled to a reduced fee if you are claiming any of the following benefits: State

Pension, Income Support/Pension Credit*, Working Tax Credit, Universal Credit, Job

Seekers Allowance, Housing Benefit, Exceptionally Severe Disablement Allowance, Personal

Independence Payment, Employment Support Allowance, Industrial Disablement Benefit,

Carers’ Allowance, , Incapacity Benefit, Council Tax Benefit Reduction** or if you are a full

time student.

* Does not apply to the savings element of pension credit

** Does not relate to the single person reduction.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You are not entitled to attend a course unless you have paid in advance.

The Council reserves the right to cancel or change the length of courses, or change the date,

time or location of classes. Learners will be entitled to a full or partial refund in the event of

course closure. Refunds are only given in exceptional circumstances and only within the first

two weeks of the course starting. Refunds are subject to an admin fee. When classes move

back to centres standard fees will apply.. Whilst every effort is made to fire all pottery and

fused glass work, we do not guarantee this will be completed straight away. We do not offer

refunds for delays in firing or if work is damaged during the firing process. Learners who use

excess materials, or bring in work from home will be charged extra. We ask learners only to

put work to be fired if they plan to complete and take the work away once finished. Learners

will need to acquire their own tools and materials for online courses please check the course

information prior to enrolling,
