CORI FORMS CORI FORMS CORI FORMS CORI FORMS
It is that me of year! We ask all Collabora ve volunteers, new
and returning, to fill out a CORI. We appreciate the coopera-
7on of all those required to complete the annual CORI and we
par7cularly thank you for keeping the pledge to protect those
among us who are most vulnerable.
To fill out a CORI, please stop by the Collabora ve Office Mon-
day through Thursday from 8:30am to 3:00pm There is also a
supply of CORI forms in the sacristy of each Church for your
convenience. Please call the Collabora ve Office if you have
ques ons or need help filling out a CORI Form.
CHILDREN’S OFFECHILDREN’S OFFECHILDREN’S OFFECHILDREN’S OFFERTORYRTORYRTORYRTORY We believe it is good at an early
age to begin to think how God has
given us so much and how we are
all called to share what we have.
This is why we have the offertory
during the Mass when the bread
and wine are brought to the altar, a symbol of the fruits of the
earth given by the Creator, as well as in our culture a sharing
of our financial giHs.
We ask both children and adults in our parishes to reflect
upon what God has given to them and to share. As previously
announced, each week, offertory cards will be in the pews to
fill out. Parents are asked to reflect with their children before
the Mass and to help them to complete the card. The chil-
dren will then be invited to place the cards in the basket at
the front of the altar at the beginning of the offertory.
It is important that all Sacred Heart School children fill out
these cards legibly each week as they are a requirement for
our Sacred Heart School Scholarship. We ask parents to en-
sure that your child’s full name is printed on the offertory
cards before they are placed in the basket.

CHAPEL AND PACHAPEL AND PACHAPEL AND PACHAPEL AND PARISH HALLRISH HALLRISH HALLRISH HALL
As you are aware the August storm
flooded the Chapel and Parish Hall at
Sacred Heart. The damage, both seen
and unseen, was extensive and other issues were discovered
which quite possibly happened with the 2017 flooding. The
damage to the hall and chapel are covered by insurance. How-
ever, the insurance company and diocese are exploring the
issue further to see how this perhaps can be prevented from
happening again. I think we all know the area in which our
property rests is above water and that the flooding in the en-
re area is a challenge that we and are neighbors have faced
for many years. Two storms in twelve months have been trou-
blesome to the area and we along with others are seeking a
way to minimize any damage that may occur in the future.
The loss of the parish hall has had great consequences for our
ministries and we ask for your prayers and pa ence as we
seek to find space to con nue the work of our Collabora ve.

Fr. Frank Cloherty and Rabbi H. David Werb
met in 1992 at the Catholic-Jewish Com-
miLee of Stonehill College, Easton, MA.
Rabbi Werb was the rabbi at Temple Beth
Emunah, Brockton; Fr. Cloherty was the
pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Brockton. Both
were interested in the roots of the stereo-
types Jews and Chris ans have had of each other and the diffi-
cult history in Jewish/Chris an rela ons. AHer 25 years of con-
versa on and their leadership in the wider dialogue between
Jews and Chris ans they have authored a book: One God, Two
Faiths: What do Catholics and Jews believe? This book is
meant for people in Jewish and Chris an congrega ons who
are interested in promo ng interfaith understanding. In a spe-
cial way the book is part of a world-wide effort to heal the pain
and destroy the roots of the painful history shared by these
two Abrahamic faiths. Rabbi Werb and Fr. Cloherty will speak
and sign copies of their book on Sunday, October 28 at 11:00
am at Sacred Heart School, 571 Boston St. Lynn.
All are welcome!
