AMERON’S WELDED STEEL PIPEEXCEEDS NATIONAL STANDARDS

Ameron WSP is supplied in standard diameters up through 144", thicknesses up to 2" and a standard laying length of 40 feetfor operating pressures up to 500 psi. Larger diameters, other lengths and designs for greater operating pressures are alsoavailable. Ameron provides a wide variety of coatings and joint configurations. During the early stages of your projectdesign, Ameron’s technical support is available to provide assistance with the design of your pipeline and coating system�

HIGH QUALITY,MULTI-SITEMANUFACTURING

Ameron’s many strategicallylocated manufacturing facilitiesprovide timely delivery to yourjobsite. Our steel fabrication plantin Fontana, California, is the largestfacility of its kind in the West.Several other full service Ameronplants offer a wide range of steelfabrication capabilities.

Cylinder Fabrication:

A helical welding machine forms a continuous

cylinder from a coiled steel sheet. The lengths

required for individual pipe are cut from the

cylinder as it is produced.

Cylinder Fabrication:

The straight seam, submerged-arc steel pipe mill

produces pipe in diameters from 72" through 144"

and in thicknesses up to 11/4" and in 40' lengths.

Hydrostatic Testing:Every steel cylinder is hydrostatically tested tothe project’s specification.

Centrifugal Lining:The cement mortar is fed into the rotating cylinder,resulting in a densely compacted lining withexceptional long-term flow characteristics.

Fitting Fabrication:Customized wyes, tees, elbows, closures, flangedjoints and other special pipe fittings aremanufactured to stringent standards at Ameron’sfabrication facilities.

VARIOUS EXTERIORCOATINGS

Ameron offers the largestchoice of exterior coatings forwelded steel pipe in theindustry. Choices range fromour standard exterior cementmortar coating to Pritec, adielectric, hot applied extrudedpolyethylene coating. For allyour specification needs,Ameron has the exterior coatingto meet your requirements. Cement Mortar Coating:

A coating of corrosion inhibiting cement slurry

is sprayed on the steel surfaces immediately

ahead of the mortar coating. The cylinder is

rotated slowly while cement mortar is impact-

applied to the specific coating thickness.

Cement Mortar Coating Over Coal Tar Enamel:

Cement mortar coating is applied as a protective

shield to enhance the impact and abrasion

resistance of a multiple felt-wrap, coal tar enamel

system.

Cement Mortar Coating Over Tape Wrap:

Cement mortar is applied as a protective shield

to enhance the impact and abrasion resistance of

a three-layered tape wrap system.

High-density, Extruded Polyethylene Coating:

Pritec is dielectric, hot applied with a specially

formulated butyl rubber adhesive. Pritec has

excellent resistance to impact and abrasion, as

well as superior resistance to cathodic

disbondment.

High-density, Extruded Polyethylene Coating is

available from Ameron for pipe with diameters

of 60 through 144 inches in the western United

States, Mexico, and Western Canada.

GOING THE EXTRA DISTANCE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

Ameron provides a complete engineering package for each WSP project, including pipe design calculations, pipeline layoutdrawings and fabrication details for each component. Each component is numbered to identify its positionin the pipeline.

MORTAR LINED AND COATED WSP

WITH THE PREFERRED CARNEGIE BELL AND SPIGOT JOINT

We also provide a full range ofspecial pipe and fittings. Virtuallyany size, shape, and endconfiguration is available.

Everything is customfabricated atour plants and delivered with thepipe in proper sequence forinstallation. Custom-fabricatedfittings include elbows, tees, wyes,closures, reducers, and connectionsto mainline valves andappurtenances.

When practical, we attach fittingsto the pipe to reduce the numberof field joints and facilitatehandling, transport and installation.Outlets of many sizes can be builtinto the wall of a pipe for manholes,air valves, blowoffs and otherconnections.
