HHere is another chart of a different client, that has no monitoring.

I will have to say that it is not bad considering., but it does mean

there is opportunity for improvement.

One can see that there is a shift from one run to the next. It is

an overall increae in weld height and weld width, indicating a

change in the heat input. The root cause was the impeder.

This ratio is good to compare production runs of the same

material on the same mill, for inherent in this metric is the

consistentcy of the setup, if the setup charts are properly uti-

lized, and startup parameters are being managed properly. It is

also an indicator of the input and knowledge of the operator on

the mill on that production run.

Weld upset, squeeze out, weld bead is not something that

readily comes to mind as a valuable piece of information, but it

does tell a story. What Radian does is capture the story in real

time to allow the users of the data gain knowledge and ulti-

mately move towards a more efficient, high yield process.
