WELL-KNOWN ALUMNI: DANICA MCKELLER
• Danica McKellar is most known for her role as Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years. Most people don't know that she graduated from UCLA with a bachelors degree in math, and later got a PHD from the University of Chicago. After this, she went on to write Math Doesn't Suck: How to Survive Middle
School Math without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail. • This book was very popular, which led her to write several other books on math, including Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who's Boss and Hot X: Algebra Exposed.
DEAN B NELSON
• Dean B Nelson graduated summa cum laude from Purdue University, and then went on to graduate from the University of Chicago with an MBA and high honors. • He didn't let the achievements stop there, in
2000 he founded KKR Capstone at the private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. KKR Capstone works to give management advice in different areas of business such as sales, pricing, and operational efficiency.
PAUL WOLFOWITZ
• Paul Wolfowitz attended Cornell University, where he actually took two different classes with Leo Strauss. He later on got his MBA at the University of Chicago. • He is best know for being a U.S. government
official and worked as the assistant secretary in D.C. under Ronald Reagan. He was also the 10th president of the World Bank, and a former United States Ambassador to Indonesia.
CELESTE HOLM
• Celeste Holm graduated from the University of Chicago, but is most known for her role in the Broadway Musical Oklahoma! and the film Gentleman's Agreement. • She later went on receive Oscar nominations for
several different movies. Holm lived a long life of 95 years, but died in July of 2012.
