Suppliers of onshore and offshore production systems are increasingly confronted with higher safety requirements for their products. This cau-ses an ever greater effort in testing, and above all, to verify the product quality.
From an offshore supplier in Abu Dhabi, Maxima-tor was commissioned to design a system that can perform several tests with different media, is easy to use and allows accurate documentation of test results.

Maximum Pressure.
The low-pressure circuit is designed for an operating pressure of approximately 500 psi (35 bar) for water and is used for the filling and flushing of compo-nents. The second test circuit for water is designed for high pressure testing of up to 30,000 psi (2,100 bar). This circuit is used to perform pressure holding tests where pressure drops are recorded and docu-mented as quality criteria. For the implementation of functional testing on valves, the third test circuit is used for hydraulic oil up to 7,500 psi (520 bar). The fourth test circuit is designed for gas testing up to 17,500 psi (1,200 bar) and is used both for leakage testing and flushing with nitrogen.
All test circuits are equipped with large tubing cross-sections to allow maximum flow capacities and thus keep the filling and test times as low as pos-sible. Another requirement of the system is its safe and easy operation. Therefore, all the circuits have been colour-coded up to the tubings in the pressure generating unit to keep the danger of a mix-up to a minimum. The system is currently being installed and commissioned on site. The workmanship and the functional diversity were able to sustainably convince our customer so that another system has already been ordered in a similar design.

This system is designed for the final inspection of valves for pipelines and production applications in various sizes (approx. 10L - 1000L) and wellhead equipment in accordance with API standards. The final acceptances of our customer are typically monitored by accredited testing agencies or the end customer.
The test equipment consists of a pressure genera-ting unit and a remote control panel. The pressure generating unit is designed for installation in a non-air-conditioned test room (+20 °C up to +50 °C). The remote control panel, however, is to be installed in an air-conditioned control room. According to customer requirements, the test unit is equipped with a total of four different test circuits - a low pressure and a high pressure circuit for water, a hydraulic circuit and a gas circuit.
