Product Review - Group assignment I would recommend differentiation strategy to launching the product review technology. In the Amazon review system report, we can see that most relationship between the customers’ favor and the quality of products is hard to track and dig out based on the limited 5 starts and text review. Most shopping websites are using the similar product review system as Amazon is using. This system is too simple. When people write reviews, they may forget some important points which can help vendors and other customers. If our company’s product review can remind clients these points, it can save customers time for typing and inspire them to offer more useful reviews.
I would suggest add these points into the product review system:
1. After consumers finish their first time review, they can add one more comment after 30-90 days. Even customers have excellent experience in the first week; they may find some weaknesses in their products after a longer time. In order to avoid the inaccuracy of evaluation, giving customers a second chance to express their opinion can benefit other customers.
2. Adding pictures function can give other customers better knowledge of the product. Vendors may edit pictures to their best status but not the real status. Customers’ pictures are more convincing. 1 picture is always better than hundreds words.
3. Building a BBS allow customers who has ranked the products to communicate with each other. Vendors can improve their products by reading their opinions.
Based on Amazon review article, I would recommend reviewing system and vendors should give rewards to customers who would like to write more than 300 words review because all the longer reviews have high helpfulness. “Helpful” or “not helpful” function is very useful. If the review system can add “Will you buy this product next” and “Yes or No”, it can also show the buyers suggestions.
With the detail-oriented review system, our company can definitely facilitate the e-commerce and increase revenue. It’s easy for company to get data and analyze customer behaviors, and better for customers to make decisions about which products fit for them better.
