Wednesday Nights from (7:00 – 8:00) Sr. Sunday: June 4th Please call or email the church office if you have a student that is graduating this year and include their school and a picture. Parents are also invited to put together a table display for their students that will be displayed in the hallway during Sr. Sunday. Graduating students are invited to participate in a video interview to be played during the Sr. Sunday service and should schedule a time to meet with Joshua and John for the interview. Ice Cream Social: May 19th from 6:30 – 9:00pm Bring yourself, a friend and your own bowl. Thats right! This is a Bring Your Own Bowl event. Prizes will be awarded for unique bowl creations. Summer Mission Trip: June 18th - 23rd Grades: Completed 6th grade - 12th Cost is $150 ($50 deposit is now due) This years trip will be in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Each summer our youth join with other churches and travel to another city or state to lend a hand to those in need. For many youth, it is the highlight of their year to be able to give back to God's people while growing in the likeness of Christ with old friends and the new ones they make on the trip. Email Joshua if you are interested in attending as a young adult. Mission Trip Training and Paperwork: June 4th We will be having our training event Sunday night during UMYF. Please plan to attend with your student to fill out paperwork. Students should wear close-toed shoes and be prepared to use various power tools. Jr. High Camp Expedition Camp 2: July 9-14 Expedition Camp is for campers going into 6-8th grades fall of 2017. It is an overnight, weeklong camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, zip line, small group meetings and specialized sessions. Scholarships are available. See Joshua for details. The bowling ally is Brunswick Zone Westcreek Lanes in Fort Worth. No Wacky Wednesday this Week. Wacky Wednesday resumes next evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Please note our last day for Wacky Wednesday for the school year is May 24. Confirmation Sunday is May 21 during the 11:00 am service. Please join us after in the hallway for cake and punch. Vacation Bible School T-shirt Deadline VBS T-shirt deadline is May 22, for both kiddos and volunteers, so please sign up. Digital Directory Updates are Needed Upcoming Packing Events We have two more packing events on the calendar: Sunday evening, April 30th: Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville Leave the SJA parking lot at 6:00 p.m. The packing event is during their youth ministry session, 7 - 8:30 p.m. They want to pack 10,000 meals. Both couples Steve & Irene Read and Rick & Doris Knox are unavailable to help that weekend. Richard Ward and Tim Hammond have volunteered to run this packing event. Thursday, May 4th: Mercedes Benz Financial Corp near Alliance Airport. Leave the SJA parking lot at 7:00 a.m. Mercedes Benz will be packing meals from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Steve & Irene will be unavailable. Rick & Doris Knox are heading up this packing event. The Easter Cantata that was performed on Sunday is on our SJA website. Click here to listen. Lindsey Ecke has announced that she is stepping down from our Director of Education position effective at the end of May in order to be a stay-at-home mother to their beautiful daughter, Madeline. The church will celebrate her four year ministry with us in two great ways: 1) Everyone is invited to share a gift card for gasoline, food, or other retail options as a love offering type of gesture for the Ecke's. 2) We will hold a celebration with a supper and worship service on May 24th, the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend. This will be our next Occasion service! Let's share our love in BIG ways for this great family and their BIG contributions to SJA! “‘For I know the plans I have for you,declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
