HISTORY

The West Nassau High School Band has consistently performed throughout the years. Withexpert leadership, parent and community involvement, and dedicated kids, the program hasbeen able to change peoples lives. Here is a list of some of the accomplishments:

• Superior Ratings at the District MPA for 12 Consecutive Years: 1989-2010•Superior Ratings at the Marching MPA for 13 Consecutive Years: 1998-2010• Awarded the Otto Kraushaar Award 2 Times• Awarded the Bob Lampi Award 2 Times• Superior Ratings at the State Concert Evaluations 5 times in the past 11 years• Best in Class and Grand Champion at the Isle of Eight Flags Marching Festival 2006• 1st Place at the Presidential Inaugural Festival in 2004 (George Bush) and 1992 (Clinton)• Received Honors is the First Disney Honors in 2006• Received Silver Medal in the Disney Festival in 2008

The West Nassau High School Band Booster Club is a non-profit (501c3) organization that relies on its volunteer base to support the band in its efforts to achieve excellence inmusic. Music is an extremely valuable discipline that has been under attack over the past 5-10 years as schools look for ways to decrease expenditures and increase classroom time in aneffort to improve students scores on the FCAT tests. Music programs have become an easy target for reducing costs. Part of our charter is to ensure that the programs survive thesecuts and that the kids are given every opportunity to expand their horizons as musicians. The Booster Club’s intent is to foster the child’s enjoyment of music and to promoteit throughout the community.

Our books are open to everyone to assure all funds are being used in good faith for the kids.

WHY BE A PARTNER?

Like every other organization, the West Nassau Warrior Band is facing funding challenges again this year. The Band Booster Club is dedicated to providing the programwith the funds needed to perform and compete at the highest levels.

As a Partner you will be contributing to the success of the program and impacting thelives of the kids as well. Many of the kids in the program have bright futures and willhave great opportunities to receive music scholarships for colleges. You can help themmeet these goals by investing in their program. It is a proven fact that children thatparticipate in the fine arts have a higher success rate in college and life than those thatdon’t participate. We encourage you to become a partner with the band and helpthem meet the goals and showcase their talents in the 2010-2011 band season. If youare unable to support us financially, we would love to see you at the games and concertsto show your support. Although the school board does provide limited funding, it is notenough to support the program. Below are a sample of the costs that cannot be covered by this funding:

§ Uniform cleanings and maintenance annually§ Competition costs (Transportation, Lodging, etc…)§ Upkeep and maintenance of band instruments§ Music purchases§ New Equipment

You or your company will be recognized as a “Warrior Partner” of the West Nassau High School Band for an entire year. This money will go to support the band program and help to defray the costs of those items listed in the “Why Be A Partner” section.

Amount: $250.00 or equivalent donation.

Recognition: You will receive a small plaque recognizing you as a Warrior Partner to be displayed proudly in your place of business.

Website: Your logo will be posted on our Website under Warrior Partners

*Note: You will be required to provide WNHS Band a quality computer graphic logo to be used on the website.

SILVER WARRIOR PARTNERSILVER WARRIOR PARTNER

You or your company will be recognized as a “Silver Warrior Partner” of the West Nassau High School Band for an entire year. This money will go to support the band program and help to defray the costs of those items listed in the “Why Be A Partner” section.

Amount: $500.00 or equivalent donation.

Recognition: You will receive a small plaque recognizing you as a Silver Warrior Partner to be displayed proudly in your place of business.

Signage: Your logo will be added to the Sponsorship board posted year round at the Band Booth (See example attached)
