• The NEPA process began with public scoping meetings for IER 16, the Western Tie In project, in March 2007

• From March 2007 through today, current project alternatives have been developed, impacts have been analyzed, and public input has been solicited and incorporated

• IER 16 is currently available for public review and may be downloaded at www.nolaenvironmental.gov

• Borrow material processing to allow for placement into the levee section

• Construction of WBV 15a.1 from Segnette State Park to Lake Cataouatche Pump Station. Construction completion is anticipated in Jul. 2009

• Construction of WBV 17b.1 is at the northern most end of the reach in the vicinity of Hwy 90. Construction completion is anticipated in Nov. 2009

• Includes a levee parallel to and south of the Outer Cataouatche Canal

• Include navigable closure structure in Bayou Verret and adjacent drainage structures

• Floodwall crossing Hwy 90 with an elevated bridge

• Maintains water exchange above Hwy 90
