THE WESTERN WALL is remmant
of the retaining wall built by
Herod The Great in the 1st
century B.C, to encompass the
second Temple enclosure.
THE WESTERN WALL in
the midst of the old city in
jerusalem, is the section of
the Western supporting wall
of the temple Mount, which
has remained intact since
the destruction of the
second Jersualem Temple
(70 C.E)
Western Wall or the Wailing
Wall (called in Islamic
tradition Ha'et El-Buraq by
the Jews Hakotel Hama'aravi)
is a focus of Judaism, a
symbol of a people and a
nation

prayers, from orthodox
jews, to israeli soldiers
and groups of jewish
tourists.
The Western Wall serves as a a
favorite location. Jewish
traditional celebrations, get
amazing on Friday Eve (the
arrival of sabbath) and on jewish
holidays.

excited bride and groom being
photographed before their
wedding.
THE WESTERN WALL IS OPEN 24 HOURS, AND
REQUIRES A MODEST DRESS FOR WOMAN AND A
HEAD COVER FOR MEN.
ADMISSION IS FREE
BUSES Nº 1 AND 2 REACH INSIDE THE OLD CITY TO
THE AREA OF THE WALL.
