Enter the number of bays in theXand Ydirections to be considered.

A maximum of 6 x 6 bays may bespecied, although for design onlyfour bays are included in thecalculation, in accordance with P354.

    STEP

Select the beam type Cellbeamor USFB.

    STEP 3

Select the number of intermediateSecondary beams.

For Cellular Beams, up to twointermediate beams may be specied.

For USFBs these are assumed on thecolumn line only. All bays are assumedto have identical beam arrangements.

Select the support condition for thebeams, and whether the perimeterbeam supports cladding or not.

Note that edge beams are assumed

similar to internal members in allcases.

    STEP 4

Highlight the bay of the beam to beimported in the zone by clicking onone of the beams in that bay.

    Additional (Westok and non-Westok)

beams may also be input to other baysby selecting the appropriate teesections and overall depth.

If preferred, the user may input theirown deection criteria, taken from anappropriate design source. It should benoted that this is the deection due todead +10% imposed loading.

The internal (not the perimeter) beamshould be selected for a multi-bayarrangement.

Perimeter beams are assumed tobe stiffened by perimeter cladding.Where this is not so, the beam isassumed to be identical to theinternal member.
