Term 1 Week 10 2nd April, 2019 PBL Focus of the Week: End of Term Gotcha Draw Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members, Last Paper Bulletin! This week will be the last time we print off paper copies of our Bulletin and send home with students. In Term 2 the Bulletin will be completely digital and will be able to be accessed via e-mail, Skoolbag App and the School website. The Bulletin will still be published at the same time (Tuesday, even weeks). If you have not provided the school with your e-mail address please phone or come in and see our friendly office staff. By taking this initiative we are helping create a greener environment for your children and saving money to reallocate resources within the classroom. Easter Parade This year’s Easter Parade will be held on Thursday, 11th April in the COLA at approximately 12:15pm. The students will parade their Easter hats or craft and we would love to see family and friends come and enjoy the events with their children. Cross Country What a fantastic morning our students had participating in the cross-country event. The weather was perfect and the day ran very smoothly thanks to our dedicated teachers and the support of some wonderful parents who assisted on the day. Thank you to everyone who came and cheered on their children. Congratulations to those students who have made it through to Zone, we wish you the best of luck! Mrs R. Callinan (Principal) Head Lice Please remember that Monday night is ‘Hair Check Night’. We need to be vigilant with this practice to prevent the spreading of head lice. Nostalgia Festival Last Sunday our Primary dancers performed at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival and they danced exceptionally well. Thank you to our parents and friends who came and watched our students. PBL End of Term Reward To reward those students who have had fantastic attendance, worn their uniform correctly and who have received 0 orange cards for the whole of Term 1 W.P.S will be hosting a Silent Disco. This disco will be held on Wednesday, 10th April. Author Visit This Thursday our Infant classes will be meeting best selling children’s author and illustrator Matt Stanton. They will hear about how Matt finds inspiration for his stories and be able to ask him some questions regarding his book’s and his writing style. The Big Vegie Crunch The ‘Big Vegie Crunch’ is an aempt to break the record for the highest number of children eang vegetables simultaneously – and to get kids excited about vegetables! This state-wide Vegie Crunch will occur this Thursday at 10am. Vegetable plaers have been arranged for each class and we thank Mrs Callinan for this donaon. P&C News P &C Meeting The next P & C meeting will be held on Monday, 8th April at 7pm in the staffroom. Everyone is welcome to attend. Easter Raffle Spare tickets are available at the office. Donations of Easter eggs etc. would be greatly appreciated. Prizes will be drawn at the East- er Parade on Thursday 11th April. Canteen Can parents please ensure they have written or write on lunch order bags for students as canteen staff are busy in the mornings and do not have time. Student Banking Student banking is every Thursday. Your child can bank as little as 50 cents. Great Aussie Bush Camp Students in Years 5 & 6 will have the opportunity to attend The GABC in Term 4 Week 5 (Mon. 11th - Wed. 13th November). Students have taken home a separate information/ permission note. A non-refundable $50.00 deposit MUST be paid by Friday, 10th May (Term 2 Week 2) for students to be included in this activity. The total cost of $350.00 will need to be paid by Wednesday, 23rd October. World Autism Awareness Week This week schools and communities are acknowledging those diagnosed with Autism and using this as an opportunity to have discussions about autism. To assist in this awareness and discussion we encourage students to wear Blue this Friday, 5th April.

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

Head Lice

Please remember that Monday
