To use Westpac Pay, download the app from the Google Play Store and install it on to your phone. Tap the app icon to launch.

You’ll start at the login screen. Just enter your usual Westpac One ID and password to link your account with Westpac Pay. You’ll then be asked to accept our Westpac Pay terms and conditions.

You may then be prompted to set Westpac One as your default payment app, and turn on your phone’s NFC capability if it’s not already on. You’ll need to enable NFC to allow Westpac Pay to work.

Westpac Pay gives you the choice of three different ways to use the app. Select the way you’d prefer to use the app, and tap ‘Continue’

Next, add your card by tapping the purple plus icon in the bottom right corner as shown.

The app will now detect eligible cards linked to your account. To add a card, tap the image of the card you’d like to add, and then ‘Add to Wallet’.

Note: only cards that are unblocked, have PayPass and are connected to your Westpac One account can be added. If you feel your card should be eligible but isn’t shown, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0800 888 111 (toll free) or +64 9 914 8026.

Once you’ve added more than one card, you’ll need to choose your active card – this is to tell the app which card to use for payments.

To choose your active card, tap a card, and select ‘Make this my active card’. You can change your active card at any time.

If you’ve only added one card, then this will automatically be set as your active card.

You’re now set up and ready to use Westpac Pay to pay for all the things you love.

To make a payment, just activate your phone (depending on what option you’ve selected, either Wake or Unlock your phone, or Login to Westpac Pay) and hold it face up over the card reader. You’ll then see a confirmation message once your payment has been made.
