APPRENTICESHIP
WesTrac is one of the largest employers of apprentices in Australia & has a nationally accredited program tailored to the needs of apprentices in the CAT working environment.
POST TRADE
Post trade training is a major area of training at WesTrac Institute. WesTrac is very focussed on ensuring its staff & the staff of its customers are ahead of the game in regard to new developments in equipment. The increase in the use of equipment management solutions & changes emanating from technical advances require WesTrac to provide training on these changes.
Programs include;
+Engines (basic - advanced) +ET
+Hydraulics (basic - advanced) +SIS
+Electrical (basic - advanced) +VIMS
+MDG15 +Jacking & Blocking
+Reusability Training +Specific Machines
The overall number of programs is extensive, with new programs being regularly developed to meet staff & customer needs.
SAFETY
Safety Training provided by external agencies is managed through the Institute, with programs including Working at Heights; Elevated Work Platform; First Aid; Basic dogging and rigging.
WesTrac is very committed in providing a safe workplace & a safety culture among its workforce.
OPERATOR TRAINING
Provision of quality operator training is essential in assisting the customer achieve the most successful outcome from their latest investment. CAT engineers work tirelessly to provide for increased efficiency in its machines, but poor operating practices can reduce productivity as opposed to the intended increase. A small increase in operator productivity can increase profits by 3 to 4 times. Therefore a 5% increase in productivity can increase profits by between 15% - 20%.
