Each team may take up to three one-minute time outs per game.Only the Captain or Designated Alternate may call a time out.

A manager may be a Designated Alternate

Teams may only signal a time out BETWEEN jams

• Starts on the first whistle of the first jam• Does not stop except for timeouts• Must be stopped if between jam time exceeds 30 seconds

• Starts on the first whistle of the jam• Stops at the fourth whistle at the end of the jam

JAM CLOCK

• Must have enough clocks to time all penalties simultaneously• Stop between jams• Need not be visible – players may ask how much time remaining

Once a jammer has cleared the front of the pack by 20’ she is no longer eligible to repass blockers

Either jammer may pass the star Jammer and pivot must be in the Engagement Zone during pass and may not be en route to Penalty Box Initiator of the pass takes penalties if illegal pass Star may be passed after returning from Penalty Box Cover may only be removed by the jammer Jammer who has removed helmet cover may not:

Accrue points (unless she returns it w/visible stars) Remain lead jammer

A successful pass transfers jammer status to pivot

Helmet cover may not be thrown or passed via other skaters Once transferred, jammer status cannot go back Star passes may be blocked by any legal means If the helmet cover falls to the ground it may only be recovered by the Jammer or Pivot The Pivot may legally use a picked up helmet cover Helmet covers may not be retrieved by clockwise skating After a successful star pass, the original jammer becomes a non-pivot blocker After a successful star pass all players retain their position status for the course of the jam

3. PLAYERS3.6 Helmet CoversHelmet covers must be:

HIGH CONTRAST

Distinguishable from other players and fans

Same color scheme

Blockers may have helmets of the same base color as covers

Pivot stripe must be solid, single stripe - 2” wide minimum

Jammer will have 2 stars a minimum of 4” wide on either side

Covers must be on player’s helmet or in player’s hand at jam starting whistle.

Jewelry may be worn during the bout, unless deemed a safety hazard by the referees. It is recommended that

jewelry be taped or removed. Jewelry must not interfere with play or cause danger to other players. Jewelry is worn

at the risk of the wearer.
