Weilburger is an internationally renowned specialist in devel-oping, manufacturing and distributing varnishes, adhesives and flexo-inks for the graphics industry.

The need for finishing processes, materials and technologies has been continuously increasing over the years. The de-mands placed on varnish and ink systems are growing every day. Our primary mission is to meet these demands through consistent product quality, high processing standards and comprehensive range of service, expertise and materials.

Furthermore, we work in close cooperation with our custom-ers and strong partners to develop new, innovative products and finishing processes. Constant market analyses and com-prehensive studies enable us to identify current and future trends in the graphics industry as they emerge and to regularly give new impulses to it.

Derived from these goals and as a specialist system supplier, we have developed and successfully launched over the years not only our SENOLITH® range but also a sophisticated range of special varnishes and adhesives for the printing industry. During the last few years, our product range has been further completed with the finely tuned SENOFLEX® flexo coatings and inks.

In addition we are also known for our extraordinary customer service. This ranges from advising products and its process-ing capabilities on an individual basis over to comprehensive seminars about print finishing up to our technical servicemen being on-site for critical print jobs.

Today, the name Weilburger is synonymous with top-quality finishing in packaging, label and commercial job printing.

Weilburger can draw on over 130 years of experience as a partner for the printing, finishing and pencil industry at its Gerhardshofen production site, and gladly gives the experience and know-how gathered during this time to its customers worldwide.

The production site in Gerhardshofen has been certified under DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1997 and under ISO 14001 since December 2010.

The aim of the DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard is to op-timize all production processes in order to maintain and improve quality. With the ISO 14004:2004 environmental manage-ment standard, the focus is on a con-tinuous optimization process that takes account of every aspect of environmental protection.

The ISO 14001 international standard is the world’s most significative guideline in regards to what einviromental manage-ment at companies and other organiza-tions should involve and deliver.

Since August 2013 we are certified under the Authorized Economic Operator Sta-tus, known as AEO-F (Customs Simpli-fication/Security) and with it we have the highest level within the AEO-Certifying.

An Authorized Economic Operator holds a special status: It means that whoev-er has it qualifies as overly reliable and trustworthy and can therefore claim cer-tain benefits in the context of customs clearance.

Weilburger is also heavily involved in networking and alliance-building and is an active member of relevant associa-tions and industry networks.

A major feature of the revised product catalogue is a new identification number system which allows the user during the ordering process to identify every range and every product suitable for food packaging by means of a simple numeric code.

Additionally and based on the enormous acceptance in the year 2009 of our color based identification system for food packaging UV coatings, we decided to also differentiate our dispersion coatings for food packaging using a light green colorant. This special colorant is only noticeable when the var-nish is in the container or being processed and does not affect the visual appearance of the print.

Since also in the area of foodstuff conformity there are many uncertainties amongst brand owners, designers, printers and finishers with regards to the current legal status and the par-ticular requirements for printed products that will be in direct or indirect contact to food, we offer within our seminar range also special trainings about this subject. These trainings can take place at our premises in Gerhardshofen (Germany) or based on demand in international locations as well

Product safety has the highest priority at Weilburger and this is reflected throughout the entire production chain:

• Evaluation and approval of raw materials for food contact

• Substitution of raw materials with critical components, particularly when the classification becomes stricter

• Storage and delivery of raw materials and finished pro-ducts according to law

• Passing information within the production chain regarding our products’ conformity with the numerous existing reg-ulations (i.e. the current EU regulations, the Swiss Com-modities ordinance, the European Toys norm, European Cosmetics norm, European Biocides norm, etc.), conform-ing work between raw material suppliers and finishers, and the issuing of SoC (Statement of Composition) amongst others

• Identification of our finished products according to GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labe-ling of Chemicals) standards

• Creating and regularly updating our safety data sheets

• Supervising and assuring the legal conformity of our prod-ucts for food contact materials through regular laboratory tests and commissioning external migration tests

We completely re-catalogued our product range in 2011 based on the tightened guidelines of European legislation and to simplify the safe application of our products in the food, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries.

Our claim to make excellent products globally available is guaranteed by consistent quality assurance, a CRM and stock management system with a global focus and keeping our best selling products in stock at all times.

Therefore we have optimized and expanded our warehouse system and currently have more than 2,500 pallet storage spaces. Our own truck fleet, the AEO-F certificate and the resulting customs clearance guarantee our customers a re-liable, quick and safe delivery of our products even in urgent cases.

As a system supplier with our own research and development department means we are always able to respond to current market trends and to develop new systems hand in hand with our customers and bring them to the market.

Also the in 2014 acquired Brazilian manufacturer HELIO-COLOR produces since its takeover products for the South American market according to our quality standards and for-mulations. HELIOCOLOR belongs to the most recognized and important suppliers of coatings for the graphics Industry in Brazil with a main focus on the food industry.

With more than 1,200 coworkers at 11 production sites, 8 sales subsidiaries spanning 4 continents and a total pro-duction volume of more than 30,000 tons of lacquers and coatings per year, environmental protection is of utmost im-portance at Weilburger.

At Weilburger sustainable environmental protection means both the minimum possible emissions of hazardous substanc-es throughout the production and supply chain and a func-tional cleaning and recycling concept.

For many years we have relied on reusable containers com-bined with environmentally friendly cleaning and recycling pro-cesses.

With a own photovoltaic system and a thermal power station, our Gerhardshofen production site is currently able to gen-erate up to 35 % of its energy demand by itself. Additional electric power is procured from 100 % renewable sources energy, enabling us to reduce the company’s CO2 emissions by more than 1,000 tons in the period 2009 - 2015.

Since 2013 the thermal power station is also environmentally friendly by way of utilizing wood pellets to generate heat.

In this way Weilburger shows that in the long-term, business success can only be secured by means of integral concepts and their consistent implementation.
