Solutions:• Remind children at circle time of the 4 friend rule.• Set-up 2 of the same activities• Sign-up sheet for the popular areas

“We seem to have a problem. There are too many friends in the science area. What shall we do? Does any one have an idea?

Transition TimeTime in between activities• Give 5 minute warnings before

changing activity• Never rush the children• Avoid all children moving from one

activity to another at the same time.• Avoid long waits with nothing to do• Sing songs during transition times

Mealtime• Social time not quiet time• Pleasant conversation between teacher

and children• Do not rush• Be tolerant of spills• Never use food as a reward• Have paper towels ready for spills• Sit with the children

backs or sitting next to a restless child

• After one-hour, children that are awake, can play quietly
