We are journeying to Allah. And we need to make our goal the love and pleasure of Allah. Without focusing on our goal we'll never be able to survive anything in this life or in the hereafter. The closer we get to the Day of Judgement the more trials will increase. Every day we go through trials.

What can be a trial? -> Money and Children In (18:46):

“Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allah's obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope.”

If you realize that it can be a trial and cause you to forget Allah, you'll be careful and your money and children will instead become a blessing for you. -> People towards other People In (25:20):

“And We never sent before you (O Muhammad ) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as

a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything).”

When you realize it's a trial, and you need to be patient with people, you'll increase in it and accordingly your status will increase. There are things which are perpetually a cause of Fitnah for us. In (31:33):

“O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah.”

-> The Dunya It's always tempting and appears to be beautiful, but it's merely a deception. -> The Shaytan Generally, what can protect me from the trials? 1) Seek knowledge and teach others. If you don't have knowledge you'll fall for everything that you see. Knowledge should be like oxygen to you, you need to always be learning. 2) Hasten to do good deeds The trials make us disabled. So always busy yourself in acts of worship and doing good deeds. Allah is Al-Waasi’ and there's no limits to the different ways we can worship Allah. We can worship him through acts of our tongue, hearts, limbs, etc.

The problem with the Fitnah is that it prevents a person from seeing clearly. It's very difficult to differentiate between right and wrong. So we need to prepare ourselves with good deeds - not fall into the trial and expect to be able to do good deeds after. 3) If you know or hear of a Fitnah nearby, do not participate Don't indulge in it. Don't talk about it. Just avoid it. 4) Hold fast to the congregation of Muslims - following the Qur'an and Sunnah Stick close to the congregation of Muslims who are also staying away from the Fitnah. It's easy to fall into it when you're alone.

- Major Signs of the Day of Judgement -

2) The Dajjal The Dajjal will enter every town and city except Makkah and Madinah. Allah assigned Angels to guard it. But there'll be a trial which occurs in Madinah - there'll be an earthquake, so all the hypocrites and those with weak faith will leave. But facing the Dajjal is more severe than an earthquake. This is purification of the Dunya - Allah knows those who don't deserve to be affected by the trial. Only your faith will matter at that time; only your faith can be a means of saving you. So work on increasing it now. The end of the Dajjal: 3) The Descending of Eesa Ibn Maryam After the 40 days, Allah will allow Eesa to descend. We need to believe that he's not dead, and Allah raised him up. The Jews attempted to crucify him and Allah raised him, replacing him with another man who resembled him. In (4:157):

“And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of 'Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]”

He'll come with a mission - one of the greatest of which is to clarify the doubts people have about him. He'll descend calling the people to Allah, breaking the cross, and killing the pigs. Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, soon the son of Maryam will descend among you [according to another report: the Hour will not begin until the son of Maryam descends among you] as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the pigs and abolish the jizyah, and money will become abundant until no one will accept it.” His other mission is to kill the Dajjal. How will he descend? He will descend with his hands on two angels. Where will he descend? In Damascus The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, "Allah will send Maseeh ibn Maryam (Messiah son of Mary). Thus he will descend near the white eastern minaret of Damascus, clad in two yellow sheets, leaning on the shoulders of two angels.” [Muslim] How does he look like? His face is reddish-white When will he descend? At the time of Salaat alFajr

“…while their Imaam will have advanced to pray the Fajr prayer with them, Eesa, the son of Mary will descend [at the time of the Fajr prayer]. The Imaam will draw backward so that ‘Eesa would go forward and lead the people in prayer. However, ‘Eesa would put his hand between his shoulders and say to him: “Go forward and pray, as it is for you that the call for the prayer was called, so their Imaam would lead them in prayer.” [Ibn Maajah] This is a symbolic move - to show us that Eesa won't bring a new religion, he'll be following the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص. "Allah will send the Messiah, son of Maryam, and he will descend to the white minaret in the East of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, beads of perspiration will fall from it, and when he raises his head, beads like pearls will scatter from it. Every Kaafir (unbeliever) who smells the fragrance (of his breath) will die, and his breath will reach as far as he can see. He will search for the Dajjal until he finds him at the gate of Ludd where he will kill him. Then a group of people whom Allah has protected will come to Isa (as), son of Maryam, and he will wipe the traces of hardship from their faces and tell them of their place in Paradise. At that point, Allah will reveal to Isa: 'I have brought forth some of My servants whom no-one will be able to fight. Take my servants safely to Al-Tur.'" (Muslim) Eesa is recorded as saying:

ح صاص قال فيهلكه الل ال خارج قال ومعي قضيبان فإذا رآني ذاب كما يذوب الر ر أن الدج ت ن ال

تي كافرا فتعال فاقتله قال فيهلكهم الل ر ليقول يا مسلم ن ت والشThe False Messiah will emerge and I will have with me two bars, so when he sees me he will melt away like the melting of lead. Allah will destroy him until the stone and the tree say: O Muslim, underneath me is an unbeliever, so slay him. Thus, Allah will destroy them. Eesa will kill all the Jews. He will rule with the Islamic Shari'ah, being of the followers of Muhammed ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص. He won't accept anyone not being Muslim. He'll give people an ultimatum - either you become Muslim or you'll be killed. There won't even be Jizya. It won't be like it is now. This firmness from him is a mercy

for the people - how can you believe in something else after he descends? He obviously wasn't crucified. Then he will live on earth for 40 years. These 40 years will be full of peace, security, and ease. The earth will flourish and there will be no hatred or jealousy between people. It's like a Paradise on earth. Everyone will be rich. Even the animals will live in peace. You'll have children playing with a snake, etc. Allah is able to do anything. The people living in this time are the cream of the crop - they survived the Dajjal, all the hypocrites and those with weak faith followed him. The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص informed us that there is something severer than the Dajjal: The Prophet [may the peace and salutations of Allaah be upon him] addressed his companions regarding the trial and harm of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) then he stood up from his sitting. He made the people busy themselves with discussing the trials and harms of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) due to fear from him. Severe fear of the Dajjal and his trials afflicted the companions [May Allaah be pleased with them] so when the Prophet [may the peace and salutations of Allaah be upon him] came to them he said: “Shall I inform you of that which I fear for you more than the Dajjal (Anti-Christ)” they replied “Yes! O’ Messenger of Allaah: He said “Minor shirk and it is ar-Riyaa (showing off)”. Ar-Riyaa is hidden Shirk. It's so hidden it's like a black ant walking in the darkness of the night. It's so difficult to detect. E.g. I'm reading Quran and in my heart I want people to praise me. E.g. I pray so people won't talk evil of me. This is Shirk whether you're seeking praise or avoiding dispraise. You're doing the good deed for people. Before the death of Eesa, 4) Ya'juj and Ma'juj will appear In Surah AlKahf we learnt that DhulQarnayn built a barrier to protect people from Ya'juj and Ma'juj who cause mischief in the land. This barrier was between two mountains and was really strong. Ya'juj and Ma'juj's minds never fathomed climbing over it. In (18:93-97):

“Until, when he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word.”

“They said: "O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?"

“He said: "That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier.”

"Give me pieces (blocks) of iron," then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: "Blow," till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said: "Bring me molten copper to pour over it."

“So they [Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog)] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it.”

“(Dhul-Qarnain) said: "This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true."

In the Hadith:

Then a people whom Allah had protected from him (Dajjal) would come to Isa, son of Maryam), and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Isa these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur, and then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There was once water there. [Sahih Muslim, 2937, The Book of Tribulations and Portents of the Last Hour] In (21:96-97):

“Until, when Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are let loose (from their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every mound.”

“And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror. (They will say): "Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)."

What do they do when they come out? Abu Hurayrah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah said that Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj are digging every day until they can almost see sunlight, then the one who is in charge of them says, “Go back, we will dig again tomorrow.” Then Allaah restores (the barrier) and makes it stronger than it was. (This will continue) until the appointed time. When Allaah wishes to send them against the people, they will dig until they can almost see sunlight, then the one who is in charge of them will say, “Go back, we will dig again tomorrow, in sha Allah.” This time he will say “in sha Allah”, so when they come back (the next day), they will find it as they left it, so they will dig their way out and emerge to attack the people. They will dry up water (by drinking it, because of their great numbers), and the people will seek to protect themselves from them in their fortresses. They will fire their arrows into the sky, and the arrows will come back down covered in blood (as a test for them), and they will say, “We have defeated the people of the earth and have gained the upper hand over the people of heaven.” Then Allaah will send worms on the napes of their necks, which will kill them. The Messenger of Allah said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the beasts of the earth will grow fat from their flesh.” (Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 3298) They'll eat everything. If you give them good food they'll eat, it you keep them a stone they'll eat. If one of them died - a thousand would take his place. Their number will increase in quantity. In another narration:

. "...Prophet `Isa and his companions will then be so much hard-pressed that the head of an ox will be dearer to them than one hundred dinar, and `Isa along with his companions, will make supplication to Allah, Who will send insects which will attack their (Ya'juj and Ma'juj people) neck until they all will perish like a single person. Prophet Isa and his companions will then come down and they will not find in the earth as much space as a single span which would not be filled with their corpses and their stench. Prophet `Isa and his companions will then again beseech Allah, Who will send birds whose necks will be like those of Bactrian camels, and they will carry them and throw them where Allah will desire. Then Allah will send down rain which will spare no house in the city or in the countryside. It would wash away the earth until it appears like a mirror. Then the earth will be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessings; and as a result of this, there will grow such a big pomegranate that a group of people will eat from it and seek shelter under its skin. Milk will be so blessed that the milk of one she-camel will suffice for a large company and the cow will give so much milk, that it will suffice for a whole tribe. The sheep will give so much milk that the whole family will be able to drink out of that....'' All this civilization and technology will disappear. Humanity will go backwards. Don't think we're going to continue with modernization. People will fight with weapons. Allah knows how this all will be destroyed. In the past no one would ever believe that you could talk or even see another persons who's far away. Allah is Al-Lateef, He brought technology subtly and gently, and He is able to gently take it away. All of the Ya'juj and Ma'juj are evil - there's no exception

The Prophet said, "On the day of Resurrection Allah will say, 'O Adam!' Prophet

Adam will reply, 'Labbaik my Lord, and Sa'daik.' (I respond to Your Calls, I am

obedient to Your Orders),

Then there will be a loud call (saying), 'Allah orders you to take out (or assign)

from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.'

Adam will say, 'O Lord! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?'

Allah will say, 'Out of each thousand, take out 999.'Then Prophet Mohamed

recited the Verse of the Quran (22:2):

The Day ye shall see it every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe

and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed): thou shalt see

mankind as in a drunken riot yet not drunk: but dreadful will be the Wrath of

Allah.

(When the Prophet mentioned this), the companions were so distressed (and

afraid) that their faces got changed color, whereupon the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,

"From the tribes of Yajuj and Majooj nine-hundred ninety-nine will be taken out

(or assigned) and one from you! You Muslims (compared to the large number

of other people) will be like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or a white

hair on the side of a black ox, and I hope that you will be one-fourth of the

people of Paradise."

On that, the companions declared "Allahu-Akbar!"

Then the Prophet said, "I hope that you will be one-third of the people

of Paradise." The companions again declared, "Allahu-Akbar!"

Then the Prophet said, "(I hope that you will be) one-half of the people

of Paradise." And the companions declared again: Allahu Akbar." [Bukhari]

The movies show things like this - but movies are false and corrupt our minds.

This is all the truth. It's sufficient for us.

5, 6, 7) The Three Landslides

We don't know when this will happen - before or after the above signs.

1) A huge landslide in the East

2) A huge landslide in the West

3) A huge landslide in the Arabian Peninsular

8) The Sun will rise from the West

We don't know if this will happen before or after the Dajjal. When this sign

occurs, there's no acceptance for repentance. When you see this sign you

cannot increase in worship or become a better person. We still have the

chance to increase in good deeds, leave the sins, repent.

Narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The

Messenger of Allaah

.said: “The Hour will not begin until the sun rises from its place of setting ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

When it rises from its place of setting, all people will believe, but on that day

‘no good will it do to a person to believe then, if he believed not before,’ [al-

An’aam 6:158].”

9) Emergence of the Beast

In (27:82):

“And when the Word (of torment) is fulfilled against them, We shall bring out from the earth a beast to them, which will speak to them because mankind believed not with

certainty in Our Ayat (Verses of the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad ).”

This is a real beast which walks on the earth. Don't try to interpret the signs in a metaphorical sense. It'll speak to the people. What will this beast say? It will curse the wrongdoers and the disbelievers.

10) A Fire which will gather the people

This fire will come from the middle of Adan, Yemen. It won't come to burn the

people, but to gather them to the land of gathering.

After Eesa passes away the earth will get worse and worse. The good people

will die. The world will go backwards into disbelief. There'll be a wind which

takes the souls of the believers, so only the worst people will remain on earth

to see this fire.

In the Hadith:

"...and at that time Allah will send a pleasant wind which will soothe people

even under their armpits, and will take the life of every Muslim and true

believer, and only the wicked will survive. They will commit adultery in public

like asses and the Resurrection Day will be held.''

Allah will raise the Qur'an, and there won't be any Qur'an on the earth. The

earth will be full of mischief. A thinned legged man will come from Ethiopia

and demolish the Ka'bah.

The Day of Judgement will begin.

The Day of Judgement

In Surah AlQiyamah:

“I swear by the Day of Resurrection”

Allah swore by the Day of Judgement. There are so many names for the Day of Judgement, one of which is Yawm AlQiyamah- because it's a day when we'll all stand in front of Allah. Who benefits from being reminded of the Day of Judgement?

“And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer).”

“Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones?”

“Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.”

To those who doubt the resurrection, know that Allah is not just able to bring our bones and skin together - but even our fingerprints.

There will be so many events and changes happening to the universe on the Day of Judgement:

“Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins”

“He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?"

“So, when the sight shall be dazed”

“And the moon will be eclipsed”

“And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.)”

“On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?"

“No! There is no refuge!”

“Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day.”

“On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions).”

“Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds].”

“Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds).”

In the middle of the Surah, Allah mentions the Qur'an:

“Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an, O Muhammad ) to make haste therewith.”

”It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad ) the ability to recite it (the Qur'an)”

“And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Qur'an's) recital.”

“Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you,”

This is the guidance we need to follow in our life. The Day of Judgement could happen any moment, and we need to prepare for it. But even then, don't hurry with the Qur'an. It is on Allah to gather it in our hearts and explain it.

Then Allah goes back to the topic of the Day of Judgement. What's our problem- Why aren't we preparing for this Day?

“Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world”

“And leave (neglect) the Hereafter.”

We love the Dunya - and leave The Aakhirah. Why is one of the names of the Day of Judgement “The Last Day”? Because there's no day after the Day of Judgement. It's the last day of the days we know. After the Day of Judgement will be eternity. This is the greatest day. The disbelievers who are being tortured in their graves will beg Allah to not bring it - because it'll be a very severe day for the person who didn't work for it. The believer in his grave wishes for it to be hasted. It'll be one day - but two very different experiences depending on who you are. Because security and safety comes when you attach yourself to Allah – Al-Mu’min, As-Salaam. If you put the next life in front of your eyes, you'll win the Dunya and the Aakhirah. If you put the Dunya in front of your eyes, you'll lose both lives. Allah then mentions the different groups of people:

“Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant).”

“Looking at their Lord (Allah);”

The destination is Allah. Allah didn't talk about Paradise - He talked about seeing Him. Because that's the goal.

The Names of the Day of Judgement

- Everyone is standing. No one can sit, lie down, flee, run away. In (4:87):

“Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Surely, He will gather you together on the Day of Resurrection about which there is no doubt. And who is truer in statement than Allah?”

- It's called this to emphasize how near it is. It's as if it's just an hour between us and the Day of Judgement. In (6:31)

“They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allah , until all of a sudden, the Hour (signs of death) is on them, and they say: "Alas for us that we gave no thought to it," while they will bear their burdens on their backs; and evil indeed are the burdens that they will bear!”

- It is the day of coming out from our graves. In (50:42):

“The Day when they will hear As-Saihah (shout, etc.) in truth, that will be the Day of coming out (from the graves i.e. the Day of Resurrection).”

- It's the day of opening - the day when Allah will divide between the disbelievers and believers. In (32:29):

“Say: "On the Day of Al-Fath (Decision), no profit will it be to those who disbelieve if they (then) believe! Nor will they be granted a respite."

In (37:21):

(It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

- It is the day of recompense and account. Everything will be settled on that day. In (15:35):

"And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

- The appearance of the Day of Judgement will knock the hearts. In (101:1-5):

“Al-Qari'ah (the striking Hour i.e. the Day of Resurrection)”

“What is the striking (Hour)?”

“And what will make you know what the striking (Hour) is?”

“It is a Day whereon mankind will be like moths scattered about”

“And the mountains will be like carded wool”

- In (80:33):

“Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet)”

On the Day of Judgement the sound of the blow of the trumpet will make the ears go deaf.

- This is the second blow of the trumpet. It also means that nothing is more overpowering than the Day of Judgement. Whatever you're worried or concerned about - the Day of Judgement is greater. In (79:34-36):

“But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.)”

“The Day when man shall remember what he strove for”

“And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees”

- It's the Day of Regret. In (19:39):

“And warn them (O Muhammad ) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not.”

Who will regret on the Day of Judgement? Everyone. The disbeliever will regret not believing. The believer will regret not doing more good deeds and abstaining from sins. How can we estimate the amount of regret we'll feel on the Day of Judgement? Your life minus the time you spent remembering Allah. The rest of your time will be regret. We are made from sand, our quality is so low - and yet if we do good deeds Allah will make us better than the Angels and live in Paradise for eternity. This is a huge opportunity and yet we're wasting our lives. Allah's informed us of all this so that we're not blind in life. There will be a day of regret. So we need to ask Allah to help us - because we can't rely on ourselves. If we rely on ourselves we'll fail.

- I.e. . This means that the Day of Judgement is near. In (53:57-58):

“The Day of Resurrection draws near”

“None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it).”

- It's a day so overwhelming, it covers the brains. In (88:1-5):

“Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)”

Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.)”

“Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace)”

“They will enter in the hot blazing Fire”

“They will be given to drink from a boiling spring”

-

It's a day where there's so much calling. On the Day of Judgement the disbelievers are calling the believers, the Angels are calling, the Shaytan is calling, the people are calling the Prophets, etc. Everyone is calling one another. There's so much going on. And we can reflect on this every time we go to an airport or a market. In (40:32):

"And, O my people! Verily! I fear for you the Day when there will be mutual calling”

The End of this Life and the Beginning of the Day of Judgement

The Trumpet will then be blow. In (39:68):

“And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah will. Then it will blown a second time and behold, they will be standing, looking on (waiting).”

What will happen when the trumpet is blown? In the Hadith: “… then the Trumpet will be blown and no one will hear it but he will bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side. The first one who will hear it will be a man who is busy in setting right the cistern meant for supplying water to the camels. He will swoon and the other people will also swoon. Then Allah will send or He will send down rain which will be like dew and there will grow out of it the bodies of people. Then the trumpet will be blown again, and they will stand up and begin to look around.” The Day of Judgement will come all of a sudden - while everyone is busy in their lives. The most wicked of people will be alive at its onset. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: "The Last Hour would come (so sudden) that a person would be milking the she- camel and the (milk) would not reach the brim of the vessel that the Last Hour would come, and the two persons would be engaged in buying and selling of the clothes and their

bargain would not be struck before the Last Hour would come. And someone would be setting his tank in order and he would have hardly set it right when the Last Hour would come." Who will blow the trumpet? The Angel Israfeel. In a Hadith: From Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah said: “The gaze of the one who will blow the Trumpet has been fixed since he was entrusted with it, looking towards the throne, ready (to blow it), in case he will be commanded to do so before he blinks, as if his eyes are two shining stars.” On what day will this occur? Friday. This is why every Friday, before the sun rises, all the animals, angels, creations, are afraid. In the Hadith: "...There is no Angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.” (Ibn Maajah) نأبيسعديالخدرى،رضيللاعنه،قال:قالرسولللا،صلىللاعليهوسلم"كيفأنعموصاحب

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it". He perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he told them to seek comfort through reciting: 'Hasbunallah wa ni'mal-Wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]". Everyone and everything will die. In (55:26-27):

“Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish.”

“And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever.”

Where are the disbelievers? Where are the sinners? Where are the kings of this world? In (40:16):

“The Day when they will (all) come out, nothing of them will be hidden from Allah. Whose is the kingdom this Day? (Allah Himself will reply to His Question): It is Allah's the One, the Irresistible!”

That's why in Surah AlFatihah:

“The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)”

The Kingdom and ownership of everyone will disappear. Don't be deceived with what you own, because everything will disappear - except Allah. We have no power or authority. Then it'll rain. Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah said: “Between the two blowings of the Trumpet there will be forty.” The people said, “O Abu Hurayrah! Forty days?” I said: “I am not sure.” They said, “Forty years?” I said: “I am not sure.”

They said, “Forty months?” I said: “I am not sure. Then Allah will send rain down from the sky and they will grow as herbs grow. There is no part of a man which will not decay except a single bone at the base of the coccyx, from which he will be re-created on the Day of Resurrection.” Scientists say there is no purpose or benefit behind our tailbone. But it's the part of our body we'll be recreated from - it's like a seed. There are people who are burnt, eaten by beasts, etc but their tailbone is somewhere on earth, even if it's in ashes. And they still face the punishment or delight of the grave. And Allah knows which tailbone belongs to whom, and we will all be recreated at the same time. This is the ability of Allah. In (50:4):

“We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees).”

There are so many parables in the Qur'an which make a resemblance between the rain we see now, and our recreation from our tailbones on the Day of Judgement. In (7:57):

“And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed.”

Our bodies will be formed. Once the body is ready, Allah will command Israfeel to blow the trumpet for a second time. In (39:68):

“And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah will. Then it will blown a second time and behold, they will be standing, looking on (waiting).”

In (36:51-52):

“And the Trumpet will be blown (i.e. the second blowing) and behold! From the graves they will come out quickly to their Lord.”

Our souls will then go into our bodies and we'll all come out of our graves. Every soul will go into its right body, there won't be any mistake. This shows us the ability of Allah. The experience will be intense. In this Dunya we live a life of our bodies, and the effect is felt on our soul, when we dream and are in our graves we live a life of our souls and the effect is felt on our bodies. On the Day of Judgement we live a life of both the body and soul. The disbelievers will say:

“They will say: "Woe to us! Who has raised us up from our place of sleep." (It will be said to them): "This is what the Most Beneficent (Allah) had promised, and the Messengers spoke truth!"

Reflect on this. Although the disbelievers are being punished and tortured in their graves, when the day of Judgement occurs they'll forget the punishment of the grave. Because the Day of Judgement is far more severe. In (10:45):

“And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves, etc.) but an hour of a day. They will recognise each other. Ruined indeed will be those who denied the meeting with Allah, and were not guided.”

They'll feel as if they were in the graves for an hour or so. We might not have seen each other for thousands or millions of years, but it'll just feel like an hour. We can reflect on this when we travel. When we're traveling it feels like a long but by the time we arrive home it feels like we never left. If you think about it, we live in the graves longer than we live our life on earth. If we feel this about our time in the grave - then how will our time in this Dunya feel? So don't prefer the Dunya over the next life. We forget all the pleasure and pain we feel in life. Work for eternity. So when we're resurrected our senses will be different. They'll be sharper. Our eyes will be able to see the Angels, the Jinn, our good and bad deeds, the Hellfire, etc. Our bodies will never die. No matter how thirsty or hungry or how severe or intense the pleasure or punishment is, it will remain forever. That's why in (29:64):

“And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter, that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew”

Who will be the first person to wake up? The Prophet Muhammed ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص. The Prophet said, "Do not give me superiority over Moses, for on the Day of Resurrection all the people will fall unconscious and I will be one of them, but I will be the first to gain consciousness, and will see Moses standing and holding the side of the Throne (of Allah). I will not know whether (Moses) has also fallen unconscious and got up before me, or Allah has exempted him from that stroke." How long will the Day of Judgement be? 50,000 years. It'll feel long for some people, while for others it'll feel short. In a Hadith: The Prophet said: “For the believers, the (length of) the Day of Resurrection will be like the time between Dhuhr and ‘Asr.” [Reported by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, Saheeh al-Jaami’, 8193] We can reflect on this when we stand in a Que. There are some people that don't wait - they have a free pass or use fast track. Allah makes us experience these differences in life so that we may remember the Day of Judgement.

- The Situation on the Day of Judgement - In (22:1-2):

“O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) is a terrible thing.”

“The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunken, but severe will be the Torment of Allah.”

In (80:33-37):

“Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet)”

“That Day shall a man flee from his brother”

“And from his mother and his father”

“And from his wife and his children”

You'll know who your mother, father, brother is. You haven't seen them for ages. But you don't care about them - and you won't just not care - you'll flee from them. Why?

“Every man, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others.”

That's why we should live our lives for Allah. We won't care about anyone else on the Day of Judgement. In (19:93-95):

“There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave.”

“Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting.”

“And every one of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender).”

We can reflect on this during exam time. You're so engrossed and focused on passing the exam you barely look at anyone else. After the exam everyone becomes relaxed. What will happen to the earth? The land we'll be gathered, accounted, and judged, won't be the same land we're walking on. It'll be a wide, empty land, with no landmarks. There will be no sin committed on it. In (14:48):

“On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible.”

Allah gave us the heavens to protect us and as a sign, the earth to live and to be buried in it. He subjected the sun, moon, etc. for us. When the Day of Judgement arrives, they will cease to have a purpose. That's why everything will be destroyed. During our exam all our papers and books are precious and have a value. After the exam we shred it and throw it away. In (84:1-5):

“When the heaven is split asunder”

“And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so”

“And when the earth is stretched forth”

“And has cast out all that was in it and became empty”

“And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so”

We have beautiful different scenery in the world, although it will all be destroyed. Allah made everything so perfect – with Ihsan. This teaches us that even if something is going to be destroyed or thrown away, do it with Ihsan.

Allah is Al-Muhsin. He loves Ihsan, and enjoined it on everyone. Take care of your house, children, even fold your bed with Ihsan. And Allah will reward you for it. In (67:2):

“Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving”

What will happen to the seas? It'll turn into fire and explode. In (81:6):

“And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow”

In (82:3):

“And when the seas are burst forth”

What will happen to the Mountains? In (20:105-107):

“And they ask you concerning the mountains, say; "My Lord will blast them and scatter them as particles of dust.”

"Then He shall leave it as a level smooth plain.”

"You will see therein nothing crooked or curved."

Due to the lack of Mountains to hold the earth down - in (99:1):

“When the earth is shaken with its (final) earthquake.”

What will happen to the sun? It will slowly disappear and have its light cut off. This will happen in stages, as will with the mountain. In (81:1):

“When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown).”

What will happen to the stars? In (81:2):

“And when the stars shall fall”

In (39:67):

“They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him!”

We don't estimate Allah as He deserves. On the Day of Judgement He will grasp the earth, and will roll up the seven heavens.

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that-he said: "The seven heavens and seven earths will be as small in Allah's Hand as a seed of mustard in one of your hands." So don't look at how small the sin is, look at how great the One who you are disobeying is. You are disobeying the One who is Al-Aziz, Al-Kabeer, Al-Qawiyy, Al-Atheem.

So hasten to do good deeds and forgiveness, He is also Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem. We are so tiny, we are nothing, but Allah bestows so much favours on us. Alhamdulillah that Allah is our Rabb. He gave us opportunities to be close to Him - Don't waste them. In (21:104):

“And (remember) the Day when We shall roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books, as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it.”

How will we be resurrected?

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger said, "The people will be gathered barefooted, naked, and uncircumcised." I said, "O Allah's Messenger! Will the men and the women look at each other?" He said, "The situation will be too hard for them to pay attention to that." When we have natural disasters in this life, people don't care what state they are in, their concern is to save themselves. We begin this life with no clothes, we leave this life with barely any clothes, and we will be resurrected with no clothes. But we won't remain naked. In (7:26-27):

“O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment, and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth).”

“O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents

[Adam and Hawwa (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabiluhu (his soldiers from the jinns or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayatin (devils) Auliya' (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not.”

This came after the story of Adam. Clothes are a favour from Allah - to cover our Awraat and as an adornment. But something better than this – Libaas At-Taqwa. It's as if our real clothes are Taqwa. Our Taqwa will be a means of clothing on us on the Day of Judgement. The Shaytan tries to adorn nudity. The more naked something is the more beautiful it is. But it's animals who walk around naked. Shaytan doesn't want us to be modest. He wants us to be exposed. We have Awra of the heart. And we need to cover it with the clothing of Taqwa. What are they? Envy, jealousy, pride, etc.

E.g. I'm jealous of a person. I patch it with Taqwa and make Dua for them. I don't react to the feeling, I do the opposite of what I feel. This isn't hypocrisy - it's Taqwa. We can't extract this from our heart. But we need to fear Allah as much as we can. E.g. I hate someone. Instead of oppressing them, being mean towards them, I think positive of them. I look at their good qualities. E.g. I excessively love a person - and this can lead to Shirk and attachment. So I think of that person’s negative qualities to bring them down in my heart, so my relationship with them is for the sake of Allah. Whenever you excessively love someone, Allah will show you that person’s defects. So don't excessively love anyone, you'll be the cause of their faults being exposed. Be moderate with your feelings. According to how much Taqwa you have in this life, will you be clothed in the next. And Allah will extract these ill feelings from your heart in Paradise. In (15:47):

"And We shall remove from their breasts any sense of injury (that they may have),

(So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.”
