government Its mechanism is simple: the website’s DNS record in China will be removed, the website can’t be solve and reach no matter the Website host inshore or offshore.
• All the website no matter domestic or foreign website. If the content/website is regarded as illegal or harmful (no clear definition)to Chinese government security, it will be filtered by the China Great Firewall, such as Facebook.com
• In China, every commercial domestic (.CN domain) website need a ICP license and registered requested information including the Mainland IP address. All the changes need to be put on record to Chinese government.
• If the change is not recorded like hosted the Website offshore sometimes later. There’s risk that Government suspend the ICP license and filter this website without notification. To solve this issue, need to re-submit the license application. In general it may take around 1-2 months or longer and no guarantee the license will be re-grant
