constructing this product

Basic Shapes.

Very few layer and effects

Very poor and simple masthead.

Colour scheme kept fairly simple.

Firstly before I started constructing my magazine I was very new to photoshop and didn’t understand the basics. During my school magazine I kept the design very basic, as my skills were very poor.

Also I made my headlines much better by using skills like drop shadows, which I had learnt through constructing my product and by using photoshop more often. Also before I started to construct my magazine I didn’t know the basic skill of cutting out pictures and manipulating the shape and size, and then over time I was able to cut my photo’s out and put them on different layers etc..

The complexity of my mast head improved, I used much more effects like ‘Stroke’ and also I used the layers to put a black box behind it and using the cutter tool I was able to get that striked effect through the headline

The first main barrier that I had was uploading photos and manipulating them but over time I found that increasingly easier. I didn’t know how to edit a photo properly and the headlines I used were very basic, with no drop shadows etc. Also I used very basic shapes and other conventions of a music magazine. But as I progressed into the second school magazine and my music magazine I started to become more familiar with photoshop. In my music magazine I learnt how to edit a picture sufficiently to make it fit in with the mise-en-scene of my magazine.

I was much more familiar with the aspects of publisher but, I found that you couldn’t use the same effects as photoshop and I found making the headline for the contents page much harder. But whilst constructing my media product and my double page spread in particular I learnt how to format the page to the required size and how to make the appearance of the page a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
