It is a paved, off-street trail that people of all ages and abilities can use for walking, biking, roller blading, and other forms of exercise and transportation. Cars and other motorized vehicles aren't allowed on shared use paths. This study is looking at different ways to extend the existing 12-foot-wide shared use path as part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail Network. This study is looking for the best ways to create a 10-foot-wide shared use path to connect US 41/Cleveland Avenue to McGregor Boulevard. The originally proposed alignment was along the Winkler Canal. After residents expressed concerns about the project’s impact on their homes, the project team was directed to study multiple alignments which are presented here. The proposed path will extend north from Colonial Boulevard where the current trail ends to Hanson Street. WHAT IS A SHARED USE PATH?It is a paved, off-street trail that people of all ages and abilities can use for walking, biking, roller blading, and other forms of exercise and transportation.

ABOUT THESE PROJECTSThe John Yarbrough Linear Park Phase IV and Winkler Canal Feasibility Studies are two different projects that are being conducted by the same study team, with the goal that both projects will eventually connect to one another and the regional bicycle and pedestrian network.

Questions about the projects, please contact Cella Molnar & Associates: 239-337-1071 or e-mail: [email protected]
