De fleste byer verden over står i dag over for proble-mer med trængsel, støj, luft-forurening og lav tilgænge-lighed. I fremtiden øges problemerne med en mar-kant stigning i antallet af ind-byggere. Derfor er det tid til for alvor at undersøge alternativerne, hvis vi i fremtiden nemt og fleksibelt skal kunne trans-portere os rundt i byen.
Most cities around the world today face problems relating to congestion, noise, air pollution and low accessibility. In the future, these problems will increase noticeably as urban populations also increase. Therefore, the time has come to seriously consider the alternatives, if we want a future with easy and flexible transportation in the city.

Hverdagslivet. Der er plads i den gode by til at leve et sundt, aktivt og udadvendt hverdagsliv i byens rum og gader.
Everyday life. In the good city, there is ample room to live a healthy, active and social life in the urban spaces and streets.
Mødet. I den gode by er der plads til tilfældige møder med både venner, bekendte og fremmede. Der er plads til at se på hinanden og se på det liv, vi lever. Møder, kom-munikation og samvær mel-lem mennesker er i højsædet.
Meeting. In the good city, there is room for chance encounters with friends, acquaintances and stran-gers. There is room to look at one another and at the lives we lead. Meetings, communication and interaction between people are of paramount import.
Tryghed. Mennesker, der går, cykler og opholder sig i byen, skaber tryghed og genkend-else. I den gode by møder vi øjne og ansigter, når vi går ud ad døren.
Safety. People who walk, bicycle and live in town create a feeling of security. In the good city, we meet eyes and faces when we walk out the door.
Byens rum. Der er plads til byrum med rekreative og æstetiske kvaliteter, som både indbyggere og besø-gende kan have glæde af, når de opholder sig i byen eller er på vej gennem byen.
Urban space. There is room for rec-reation and aesthetics that both residents and visitors can enjoy whether they are staying in town or just passing through.
Sund by. Den gode by er en sund by uden store proble-mer med trængsel, støj, luft-forurening og sundhedsrisici.
Healthy city. The good city is a healthy city with no major prob-lems with congestion, noise, air pollution or health risks.
Høj tilgængelighed. I den gode by er der altid et trans-portmiddel, der gør det nemt at komme fra A til B uden omveje. I den gode by plan-lægger man for mangfoldig transportadfærd.
High accessibility. In the good city, there is always a vehicle that makes it easy to get from A to B without delay. In the good city, diverse transport behavior is planned for.
Bæredygtig infrastruktur. I den gode by er infrastrukturen pri-oriteret, så der er plads til, at flertallet kan transportere sig selv effektivt igennem byen, uden at det sker på bekost-ning af kvaliteten af byens rum, den generelle tilgænge-lighed i byen og det liv, der leves i byen.
Sustainable infrastructure. In the good city, infrastructure is a pri-ority, so that the majority is able to effectively to transport itself through the city without sacrific-ing the quality of the urban space, the general accessibility and the quality of life in the city.
