EDI refers to the electronic exchange of business information between two companies using a specific and structured format. The concept has been around since the 1970’s and has traditionally been used to automate buyer-seller transactions such as invoices and purchase orders. The H.T. Hackney team wants to make it easy for you to begin using your back office solution to manage your inventory. To aid in this process, we are including these easy-to-follow implementation plans. PRICE BOOK STEP 1: Select a back office provider STEP 2: Select items that you want in your electronic price book • This process could take a couple of weeks • Work with your H.T. Hackney Sales Associate STEP 3: Review category (department) list • The smaller the list, the easier it will be to manage. • We can provide custom departmental break downs • Work with your H.T. Hackney Sales Associate STEP 4: Define cost and retail zones and define schedule • The fewer zones the better! • Create logical cost and retail groupings (not 1 per store) • Work with the H.T. Hackney EDI Support Team STEP 5: H.T. Hackney will send you a sample electronic price book • You will receive this via e-mail • Load into a test company and confirm results • Work with the H.T. Hackney EDI Support Team STEP 6: Provide sample price book feedback • Work with the H.T. Hackney EDI Support Team STEP 7: Process initial price book • Contact the H.T.
