It is our goal to meet each family and provide the very best resources and preschool experience. What is The Kids Current? The Kids Current is the monthly newsletter of Kids Connection Preschool. There will be updates about special events, information on the “topic of the month” and specifics about what students are “studying” here at school! You will also find family friendly events that Joliet First Assembly offers to the community. The Kids Current will be handed out on the first class of each month. DROP OFF & PICK UP During the first month of school you will need to come into the church for drop off AND pick up! Please do not forget your safety tag. It is required to show a teacher before they release the student Birthdays are celebrated here at school! If you wish to make the day extra special by sending a treat please send SMALL STORE BOUGHT treats. Please review the approved treat list for examples. To sign up, write your name on the “Birthday Sign-Up” sheet found near the classroom. You may choose any day in the year to celebrate your child’s birthday if it falls in the summer. Snack Info Snacks will consist of 100% fruit juice and either crackers, pretzels, or a bread item. COMMERCIALLY prepared foods are accepted for special occasions. Food must arrive unopened, as packaged by the bakery or manufacturer, or it shall not be accepted. Food prepared at home will be sent home with the class. The curriculum is up to date with the Illinois Early Learn- ing Standards. Staff have purposefully incorporated the Handwrit- ing without Tears curriculum that have correlations to the COM- MON CORE STATE STANDARDS INITIATIVE for Plainfield School District. Each class will be introduced to a letter, number, color, shape or concept EACH DAY starting in September Students will be learning more about themselves and others this month. They will learn about their own body, how to take care of it, and how to properly behave towards one another. God made each and every student unique and special!
