What is ?
• UC’s voluntary employee wellness program.
• Designed to educate, support and empowerUC faculty and staff to make healthy lifestyle choices while building an overall culture of health for our campus and community.
Who was involved with the program
design for ?
• UC Human Resources & Mercer Consulting
• Wellness Advisory Committee– Collaborative group of faculty and staff from multiple colleges and
departments, with all campuses represented
– Includes faculty members from College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Allied Health, Pharmacy, and the Health Promotion & Education program in CECH
Key Components
• Wellness portal, powered by
• A website dedicated to providing you with resources, information and tools, including a monthly spotlight feature
• Health coaching coming soon!
To participate:
• Step 1– Health screening
– Health assessment
• Step 2:– Lunch and learn sessions
– Pop-Up Events, which have included coloring, drumming and meditation
– Interactive courses within the portal
– Individual and team challenges
– Goal setting related to nutrition and physical activity
Who is eligible to participate?Any UC employee is able to participate in
In order to be eligible to earn Be Well UC incentives, you must be actively employed as a UC faculty or staff member AND enrolled in a UC medical plan as the primary subscriber.
Please note - those who are not enrolled in the medical plan are still welcome to attend all lunch & learns & pop-up events.
What will I get if I participate?(“What’s in it for me?”)
Step 1:Must be completed to earn

Up to $240 cash incentive paid January 2017*
Step 1 Requirements:• Complete health assessment and health screening
Step 2 Requirements:• Earn Bronze, Silver or Gold incentive level by earning Be Well UC points
• Please see website for pro-rated incentive based on hire date
*All incentives are taxable.
How Do I Add Points?
• Login to the portal (www.assethealth.com/bewelluc)
• Click the Tracking tab, which will open the “Well Board.”
• Determine which “Well” your incentive earning activity falls under
and select Report.
• Use the drop down “Choose from this list” to find your activity –
enter the date it was completed, and click submit.
• To see your overall progress, click on the Progress tab just below
the word tracking which will take you to a summary page.
• If you want to see your progress in each “Well” category, you can
select each Well and see the specific items you’ve earned points
for.
Tips To Earn Points • Check out the Event Calendar for on campus opportunities like:
– Earn 10 points for each Lunch & Learn. Archived presentation materials are available online.
– Earn 10 points for pop-up events including Be the Beat drumming circles, Coloring and City
Silence
• Login to the Asset Health portal for web-based opportunities like:
– Earn 40, 50 or 60 points per challenge– Stress Free in 2016 (Jan-Feb), Get Moving UC (Apr)
and Eat the Rainbow (Jun-Jul). http://www.uc.edu/hr/bewelluc/portal.html
– Earn 20 points per course – 10 courses to choose from (yes, up to 200 points available), take
about 15-20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed from any device with internet.

– Earn 5 points per month for making an exercise or nutrition goal and tracking it. Take
advantage of resources you have available to you as a UC employee.

– Earn 5 points each for logging into the Impact Solutions (employee assistance program) portal
or logging into Castlight to compare medical costs (click on Know Your Costs from the
Anthem portal page)
– Earn 20 points each for using the free preventive check-ups/cleanings available through our
plans
– Earn 10 points for visiting with a retirement vendor or logging into their website – check our full
listing of opportunities here and begin to plan for your future.
Health Coaching
• Be Well UC is excited to launch a pilot offering of health
coaching on campus for those individuals who have completed
Step 1 (health assessment and health screening). You will be
meeting with Ashley Varol, our Wellness Coordinator, who is also
a Certified Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer and Group
Fitness Instructor and PhD (ABD) in Health Promotion &
Education. Please read through the below information which
explains what you can expect in this initial appointment and how
best to prepare to make the most of your time with your coach.

Welcome to our Wellness
Ambassadors!
• Wellness Ambassadors actively participate in wellness events and programs, invite co-workers to wellness events and programs,
and help communicate wellness offerings.
• The role is voluntary with minimal time commitment (about 1 hour per month)
• 63 Wellness Ambassadors serve UC
• Check out the Be Well UC website to learn more about the team
Wellness Ambassadors will serve as UC’s key communicators of Be Well UCby directing employees to wellness programs, activities, and resources.
