What type of training and certification should be required for key industry personnel?
Short Answer: − Training to develop role specific skills necessary for: Full Cycle Well Integrity Beyond “kick control” t o Process Safety Management of
Casing, Cementing and P&A operations “Crew Resource Management” To ensure effective communication, coordination, and
control.
− Certification Operator Assured Competency ( per SEMS II) Current certification for well control and Prof. Engineering Company and Job role specific “Certification” necessary for
Operator to Assure competence

What is “Certification”?
Certify means to authenticate or vouch for a thing in writing. To attest as b eing true or as represented. Certificate means a written assurance, of official representation, that some act has or has not been done, or some event occurred, or some legal formality has been complied with. Brett Observation: there won’t be “one test” that will assure competency.

One important aside…
A “Competency Assessment” (test or observation) is information about the capability of an individual or group. Value of Information (Bayesian techniques) can be used to determine the value of an competency assessment. Very (very) often such techniques demonstrate high eco nomic value of assessments.
