    Minimum passing score for each subtest is 410

    Maximum attainable score is 4000

    Maximum attainable score in each subtest is800

    200 score on writing what does it mean?

    Candidate failed to receive a passing score onthe essay portion of the Language Arts

    Writing subtest. When this occurs the multiple

    choice section does not get scored. 200 is the

    minimum score assigned to all subtests.

    Determination of Readiness to

    Test

    Official Practice Test OPT

    Each prep program can set its own passingscore of 2250 or higher on the OPT for referralto the GED test.

    SEDs GED Testing Office recommends apassing score of 2500-2600 on the OPT beforereferring students to the GED test (2500isrequiredof students in EPE funded GED PrepPrograms).

    Determination of Age Eligibility

    Persons 19 years of age and over donot need proof of age eligibility

    Persons 16 through 18 years of agemust have proof of age eligibilityobtained in advance of the GED Test

    Persons from foreign countries underthe age of 19, need notarized lettersand proof of US entry dates assubstitutes for Attachment B.

    GED Test

    Primary forms of identification include:drivers license, passport (photo must berecent), military papers or other form ofgovernment identification showing name,address, date of birth, signature, and aphotograph.

    One form of ID must demonstrateNYS residency.

    Students who do not have driverslicenses can apply for non driverslicense IDs at any DMV. This mustbe done weeks in advance of theGED Test.

    TAF (Testing Authorization Form)

    The original form, which gets scanned,

    must be completed for every prepprogram student referred to the GEDTest for tracking purposes of prepprogram pass rate and student scores.

    Must be completed in pencil.

    Must contain the OPT score, the five (5)digit) prep program code, a prepprogram contact name and thesignature of the authorizing person from

    the prep program. Must be sent along with the completed

    test materials to NYSED by the GEDexaminer upon completion of the GED

    Test session.

    For a prep program to receive aquarterly report of their studentstest scores, the Prep Program Codemust be entered for item #9, on the

    New York State GED ExaminationBooklet Part 1 (CandidateInformation) at the time of testingby each test candidate referred for

    testing with a completed TAF Form.Examination booklets and TAFs aresent to SEDs GED Testing Office bythe GED examiner after each exam.
