Humans v. Zombies (HvZ) was first invented at Goucher University in Baltimore, MD

It was developed as a way to bring people together, in a game that resembled tag with a twist

Based on science fiction, the game simulates a zombie outbreak in which Humans must fight to outlast the zombie horde

An “original zombie” is selected at random, and no one can identify that person until they claim a victim.

All other players start off human, and can use nerf guns to stun zombies for a set period of time.

If a human player is tagged, he/she must wear a headband and becomes a zombie after one hour.

The game can be adjusted to give different missions to each team with rewards for completing them.

After all zombies are dead, or all humans are lost, the game ends.

Zombies rely on ambushes to claim victims since the opposing team is armed with ranged weapons.

The more zombies are created, the bigger the advantage of using swarm tactics.

Safety in groups for defense, but on the move it is best to spread out instead of risking your entire team to an attack.

As the game goes on, the humans become outnumbered, and must use their ingenuity to complete missions
