Attention PD – Adrienne WoodThere are many kinds of attention problems - most rooted in emotional and developmental dynamics. Many professionals diagnosing attention problems are experts at describing the symptoms, but come up short on explanations - without the foundational understanding of how the attention system develops, what can go wrong, and why. Knowing the nature of the problem is key to managing the symptoms and addressing the root cause. This course is appropriate for: parents, teachers, therapists and professionals working with children and youth.
Alpha child – Adrienne WoodWho’s in charge in your home? Often in wanting to make things work for our kids, the message they get is, “I’m in charge”. While supporting them and encouraging their own voice is important, children feel safe and secure when parents take the lead, and they aren’t the ones in control. This course, based on the attachment-based developmental approach of Dr Gordon Neufeld, will help you understand this ‘alpha dynamic’ better. When we understand why our kids want to take charge, we’ll better understand how to take care of their needs, and bring them back into a connected relationship with us.
Teenage brain – closed for renovationswith Nathan Wallis
Ever wondered why your teenager behaves like they do? Or what they were thinking? Come join us for an evening with Nathan Wallis to hear the latest research on the adolescent brain and how you can navigate your way through these important formative years.
