The Council continues to take guidance from the National Association of Local Councils who have a dedicated web page at https://www.nalc.gov.uk/coronavirus. We continue to hold virtual Parish Council meetings and the next will be held during July 2020. You are, if you wish able to join the virtual meetings and the agenda and instructions on how to take part will be made available on the PC website in due course at: http://www.crudwell-pc.gov.uk/ Should parishioners have specific issues they can contact the parish clerk at [email protected] or Chairman [email protected] (phone 577615.). The my-Crudwell website and mailing list developed with Council support at: http://www.my-crudwell.org/category/news/covid-19-news/  has links to many local services and provides access to this on-line What’s On in Crudwell (WOIC) journal. It also has links to the excellent Street Leaders support network and a my-Crudwell mailing list to keep you informed of developments and receive access to New WOIC online Publications which are currently two weekly. You can join the my-Crudwell mailing list at: www.my-Crudwell.org. Whilst the latest information from the Government indicates a relaxing of restrictions on outdoor activities they also make it quite clear that we will not be able to open the playground and outdoor fresh air fitness equipment because there is a higher risk of close contact and touching surfaces. The children’s play area and outdoor gym must therefore remain closed in accordance with Government guidance and we would still ask you not to use these facilities. Here is the latest information from Wiltshire County Council.Online booking system for household recycling centres  A new online booking system will be available from Thursday 4 June to allow you to book a visit to any household recycling centre (HRC) in the county, up to three days in advance.  15 minute slots will be available for visits to HRCs from Monday 8 June onwards. From Monday 8 June, you must pre-book a slot to visit an HRC.

Other restrictions, including no trailers or vehicles 3.5 tonnes or over, remain in place. We will still be operating the postcode entry system to visit HRCs up until the sites close on Sunday 7 June.Read our FAQs about visiting an HRC Booklet to help families prepare for return to school We have created a short guide with some tips to help families prepare as early years settings and schools welcome more children back through their doors. The government has said early years settings, primary school reception, Year 1, 2 and 6 (Editor’s note: we believe this incorrect - the booklet and government policy say ‘Reception Year 1 and 6’) can return from 1 June. Secondary school years 10 and 12 will have some face-to-face contact from 15 June. The booklet has some helpful tips for families including:• Talk about the positives of going back to school• Talk about all the things you have done during the lockdown period • Think about ways for them to connect with their friends before going back• For younger children explain when this is going to happen i.e. there are so many sleeps before

going back• Encourage open discussion• Start to encourage the number of times your children wash their hands and practise maintaining

social distancing• Share school information with them to help them prepare for the changes• Put a routine in place in the run up to going back get your child to talk to you about what the

routine will look likeRead more and download the bookletGroups of up to six people can now meet outdoors You can now spend time outdoors, including in gardens and other private outdoors spaces, in groups of up to six people from different households provided you follow strict social distancing guidelines. When seeing friends and family outdoors:• Access private gardens without entering someone’s home, wherever possible• Do not go indoors unless you need the toilet urgently, or are passing through to access the garden• Avoid touching surfaces and if you use the toilet wash your hands thoroughly, wipe down surfaces, use

separate or paper towels and wash or dispose of them safely after use• You cannot use garages, sheds or cabins with non-household members – these are all indoor areas

where the risk of transmission is higher• You should not share garden or sports equipment with people outside of your household• You can have a barbeque or a picnic, but should, where possible, try to avoid sharing food and drink.

You should not pass each other food or drink unless you live together. You should not use plates or utensils that someone from another house has touched - either bring your own or ensure you have thoroughly cleaned them before using. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds and use disposable towels if possible.

Read the government's updated FAQs on social distancing What has changed if you are shielding Government guidance for people who are shielding has been updated.People who are shielding remain vulnerable and should continue to take precautions but can now leave their home if they wish, as long as they are able to maintain strict social distancing. If you choose to spend time outdoors, this can be with members of your own household. If you live alone, you can spend time outdoors with one person from another household. Ideally, this should be the same person each time. If you do go out, you should take extra care to minimise contact with others by keeping 2 metres apart.Shielded people should continue to avoid all non-essential face to face contact. This means they should not go to places like supermarkets or to pharmacies. The support for shielded people remains in place and unchanged.Read the full guidance on shielding

Following the Steering Group’s recommendation and the Parish Council’s formal approval the Reg.15 draft of the Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan was registered with Wiltshire Council on the 12th May 2020. We are in discussion with Wiltshire Council and have clarified how we can support them with ensuring that parishioners receive adequate notification of Wiltshire’s Reg.16 consultation of the plan during lock down. We informed them that we will seek to inform you via our website, our mailing lists (265 households), WOIC online, notices on parish notice boards and a leaflet drop to those who are not on our email list. We are also considering the possibility of virtual internet presentations and Q&A sessions. We have not as yet been given dates when consultation will commence but there have been indications that this could be in a few weeks time. The six week consultation period is likely to be extended to eight weeks if we are still in lockdown. The draft timescale therefore remains as:• Consultation during June, July or August• Inspection August onwards• Referendum (hopefully) late in 2020.• Plan Made in 2020We will let you know as soon as we have confirmation of the Reg.16 consultation dates. You can join our Neighbourhood Plan email list at http://www.my-crudwell.org/plan/signup/Sian Burke-Murphy, Chair; Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group Roy F Lambley, Secretary; Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group

Neighbourhood Plan Report  3rd June 2020

The Parish Council supported developments on the my-Crudwell website continue to provide support and information for parishioners and this can be found at  http://www.my-crudwell.org/category/news/covid-19-news/The Covid-19 support page lists all known local support services together with shops and any special arrangements in place for the elderly or vulnerable including the list of our brilliant Street Leaders. The What’s On in Crudwell journal continues to be published on the my-Crudwell site up to twice a month. The mailing list at [email protected] also provides live information updates and there are currently 297 subscribers.I am continuing to liaise with Leon Horton regarding his support network of Street Leaders; he has provided the following update.“In a nice way, no news is good news.  Everyone is ‘getting on with it’, which is great community spirit and support.  A few deputising for others, which, embeds our community spirit further.” Leon Horton I can personally vouch for this excellent community initiative having recently asked a street leader to collect prescriptions for us, pleased to say that the resident, who we don’t know, quickly and efficiently did the job although he had no experience of doing that previously, we are very grateful.Cllr. Come and be part of the Benefice Coffee & Quiz via Zoom

The Flower Club is a friendly group with members from throughout the area. Our meetings would normally take place at Crudwell Village Hall on the third Wednesday evening of the month, but clearly during the current coronavirus crisis these are cancelled for the foreseeable future. Likewise our full programme of events, including demonstrations, workshops and outings, is temporarily on hold. Unfortunately one further event, ‘Confluence’: a festival of flowers at Salisbury Cathedral has now been cancelled, so our planned coach trip there in September will not now go ahead. However, if you are interested, please save the date of another major event which we still hope will happen later this year:18th November. Christmas Open Demonstration, Sundial Theatre Cirencester, with National Demonstrator Tom Hodge. In the meantime, we wish all of our members and the whole community all the best during these difficult days, stay safe and well and we look forward to meeting again soon.
