display are created using only his
breath and thinned oil paint. Carey
describes his process as "a return to
the human element in art, each mark
on the canvas is air from my lungs, a
moment in existence."
The works are both mesmerizing and
ethereal, reflecting a process that
"focuses on using a stream of
consciousness composition to
amalgamate the colors into a literal
representation of my breath."

Syrian Refugee Bake Sale

Hayden
Refugee Alliance is hosting a bake sale
of traditional Syrian pastries on
ASU’s Tempe campus. In addition,
Refugee Alliance volunteers will deliver
pastries to campus offices for those
who’d like to purchase but are
unable to come to Hayden during that
time. The bakers of the pastries are all
refugees from Syria who’ve been
resettled in the Phoenix area within
the last year. These refugee families
face a continuing sense of isolation
and financial instability. The bake sale

percent of the proceeds go directly to

the way you shop can impact the
environment. Excess clothes will be
