All Day Downtown

Campus –

University

Center Library

The Downtown Phoenix campus library

is pleased to exhibit the work of Ryan

Carey. His work on canvas combines a

complex color palette, engrossing

texture and his unique method of

using oil paints. The 18 works on

display are created using only his

breath and thinned oil paint. Carey

describes his process as "a return to

the human element in art, each mark

on the canvas is air from my lungs, a

moment in existence."

The works are both mesmerizing and

ethereal, reflecting a process that

"focuses on using a stream of

consciousness composition to

amalgamate the colors into a literal

representation of my breath."

percent of the proceeds go directly to

assorted boxes, priced from $3-$10.

Purchasers are highly encouraged to

bring cash, as we’ll have limited

ability to process debit/credit cards.
