Week 7 : 23-27 November

Faith Facts: Let God into your life every day this Advent. ‘This short video clip might help you to focus on what Advent is really all about. On Sunday 29th November the new liturgical year begins. This coming year our Sunday cycle will be Year B.

Spiritual Reading:

Citing St. John Paul II, Pope Francis imagines a better kind of politics, one that focuses on the long term com-mon good. In Chapter 5 he asks that political structures put social love at the forefront rather than economics. Political love is practiced in sacrifice for those in greatest need, but in accord with subsidiarity so that it does not

become “a soulless pragmatism” (187). This requires politicians to strive for “fruitfulness” over “results”: “what is important is not constantly achieving great results… It is truly noble to place our hope in the hidden power of the seeds of goodness we sow, and thus to initiate processes whose fruits will be reaped by others” (194-195).

Prayer Packs & Faith Facts

Attendance Dues

Thank you to everyone who has already paid up their Attendance Dues for this year. Unfortunately we still have many parents who have not paid their invoices which were all emailed out earlier in the term. We, the parish, still have to pay the bill to the Diocese and are finding it a struggle at the moment when there are so many overdue payments still to come in. If you are having trouble paying your Attendance Dues bill please contact me at the parish office, [email protected], we are always willing to assist where there is a genuine need. Otherwise can we please ask that the overdue bills are paid as soon as possible. Thanks! Marie Financial Administrator Christchurch West Parish
