What’s New in HyperShot 1.7 Bunkspeed is proud to present HyperShot 1.7. This is a much anticipated update that brings significant improvements and exciting new features in the areas of Usability, Rendering, Translators, and Performance. Here are the most significant highlights: Improved model interaction: You can move your objects within the scene by simply using the mouse and keyboard. Whether you want to move an object, rotate, or scale, it now is literally only a mouse-click away. Reworked material library: Enjoy a better representation of your materials - crisper display, different size icons, and more flexibility when resizing the material window. Simplified workflow when working with textures: Upon import, HyperShot automatically applies the necessary texture coordinates if they are missing on the geometry. All new Render Queue (Pro only): No longer do you need to wait for your renderings to finish during your precious work hours. Add all the scenes you would like to render into the queue, and hit the “render” button before you leave for the day. This now allows you to use your hardware 24/7. More and better translators: Import ALIAS, 3DS, FBX and JT directly. Improvements to the OBJ importer make import from Cinema 4d, Maya, and 3D Studio Max a snap. And finally SolidWorks 2009 is supported. HyperShot 1.7 is a free upgrade from any previous version for all existing customers. To download, please visit www.image2output.com/prodlist.aspx?cat=1653 . What’s New in HyperShot 1.7

Bunkspeed is proud to present HyperShot 1.7. This is a much anticipated update that brings significant improvements and exciting new features in the areas of Usability, Rendering, Translators, and Performance. Here are the most significant highlights:

• Improved model interaction: You can move your objects within the scene by simply using the mouse and keyboard. Whether you want to move an object, rotate, or scale, it now is literally only a mouse-click away.

• Reworked material library: Enjoy a better representation of your materials - crisper display, different size icons, and more flexibility when resizing the material window.

• Simplified workflow when working with textures: Upon import, HyperShot automatically applies the necessary texture coordinates if they are missing on the geometry.

• All new Render Queue (Pro only): No longer do you need to wait for your renderings to finish during your precious work hours. Add all the scenes you would like to render into the queue, and hit the “render” button before you leave for the day. This now allows you to use your hardware 24/7.

• More and better translators: Import ALIAS, 3DS, FBX and JT directly. Improvements to the OBJ importer make import from Cinema 4d, Maya, and 3D Studio Max a snap. And finally SolidWorks 2009 is supported.

HyperShot 1.7 is a free upgrade from any previous version for all existing customers. To download, please visit www.image2output.com/prodlist.aspx?cat=1653.

Enjoy!

Following is a detailed list of all new features and enhancements in HyperShot 1.7:

Usability

• Interactive moving of objects:- Ability to move, rotate, and scale the object with a combination of hotkeys and mouse

buttons.- Use the “Move Object” dialog to fine-tune object movement and scaling, or reset to its

original state and position.• Reworked Material Library:

- Crisper display of materials.- Ability to display materials in different sizes (32x32, 64x64, or 128x128 pixels).- Ability to resize material library window.- Drag and drop materials onto the object (Windows only).

• World coordinate system:- Ability to toggle the display for the world coordinate system, giving the user a sense of

camera orientation at all times.- Coordinate system is displayed in realtime only, and will not be captured in screenshots nor

final renders.• The last position of the main dialog box and material library are remembered during the session,

as well as when closing and re-opening HyperShot.

• Mac: When using HyperShot on the Mac with OS X 10.5, folders no longer show up empty when browsing for models, environments, textures etc.

• Mac: Bip files can be loaded into HyperShot by double-clicking on the file itself.

• Mac: Dragging bip files onto the HyperShot application icon will start HyperShot and load the file. • Automatic check for HyperShot software updates when connected to the internet.

Rendering

• Render Queue (Pro only):- The Render Queue feature allows users to put all the renderings into a queue that can be

processed at the user’s leisure. This render queue can contain an unlimited amount of scene setups from a variety of bip files.

- Prior to processing the images in the queue, the queue can be reviewed, and individual scenes can be deleted.

- Individual images that are being processed can be stopped at any given time. The queue will then automatically move to the next scene and process the image.

• Region render (Pro only):- Users can interactively select a particular region in the realtime window, and render out just

that region. This region can be manually adjusted by changing the region’s coordinates. This will only render the selected region, thus dramatically reducing render times.

• Render in Separate Process (Pro only):- By default, the realtime window is paused, thus cutting render times in half.- Since this is a separate process, the user can shut down the current HyperShot session,

speeding up render performance even more.- Users can also chose to continue to work in realtime while the rendering is progressing in the

background.• Automatic “box-mapping”:

- Upon import, HyperShot automatically applies texture coordinates using the “box mapping” technique. If textures have already been applied in the CAD system, these texture coordinates will NOT be overwritten. No other texture coordinates will be created in this case.

• Ground shadows:- The ground shadows render cleaner both in realtime as well as in the final rendering. This is

particularly noticeable when using HDRIs that contain multiple light sources.

Page 3: WHAT`S HYPERSHOT

• Improved Anisotropic Material:- Occasional artifacts seen in the rendering when using higher roughness settings are gone.

• Improved texture mapping capabilities within the General Material:- New texture wrap modes provide better control of texture placement and patterning. Please

consult the manual for further details.- Light falling through a texture with transparency (alpha channel) will cast a proper self

(detailed) shadow.- Bump texture supports transparency (alpha channel) within normal mapped images.- Specular maps with alpha channels are fully supported.

Translators & Plugins

• OBJ (Windows/Mac):- HyperShot computes the missing normals in an OBJ file.- This will result in a smooth representation of the object.- This will greatly improve file import from Cinema 4D, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, and Autodesk

Alias Maya.• FBX (Windows/Mac):

- FBX files can be directly imported into HyperShot.- Texture coordinates are maintained, however, any textures that have been applied in the

modeling system will need to be reapplied.

• 3DS (Windows/Mac):- 3DS files can be directly imported into HyperShot.

• Rhinoceros Plugin (Windows):- Several bugs with regards to layered geometry have been fixed. All geometry on a single

layer are treated as a single material group when transferred to HyperShot using the plugin.

• SketchUp (Windows/Mac):- SketchUp 6.0 files can be directly imported into HyperShot on the Mac.- SketchUp plugin is available for both platforms. This allows users to start HyperShot directly

from inside SketchUp. Geometry, materials, textures, camera angle and window size are being transferred to HyperShot.

• SolidWorks (Windows):- SolidWorks 2009 is supported.

• Pro/ENGINEER Plugin (Windows):- Plugin for Wildfire 2, 3 and 4 allows users to read in parts and assemblies directly from Pro/

ENGINEER into HyperShot• ALIAS (Windows / Pro only):

- Users of ALIAS and HyperShot can import .wire files directly. The user can choose from various pre-defined tessellation settings, or set their own. The user also has the option to import .wire files by “SHADER” or by “LAYER”. All imported geometry is automatically ‘box-mapped”, ready for texturing.

- Please contact Bunkspeed at [email protected] on how to obtain the translator.

• JT (Windows / Pro only)- A JT translator is available. Please contact Bunkspeed at [email protected] for further

information on how to obtain the translator.

Performance

• Reduced memory consumption up to 40% for models with smaller polygon count and improved rendering performance by roughly 10%.

Licensing

• More robust check for computer’s core MAC address:- This will avoid issues with missing licenses when changing networks.
