The Prince Edward Island Snowmobile Association (PEISA) will be

hosting from February 19th – 21st 2014 a Celebration Ride covering the

entire PEI snowmobile experience over a three-day period. The PEISA

is inviting snowmobilers from away to come visit them in 2014 by taking

part in this organized ride that is their contribution to celebrate a

historic event in Canada’s history.

In 1864 the “Father’s of Confederation” travelled to Charlottetown

from what is now known as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario and

Quebec. The fathers began the discussions for the formation of our

great country, Canada, in 1864. Thus in 2014, the 150th Anniversary of

this event, the PEISA is pleased to be one of the first groups on PEI

to hoist a celebration. All across PEI, in 2014, there will be Island

events known as the Creation of our Nation Celebration.

Snowmobilers will ride on the well known Confederation Trail that

encompasses almost the entire Island from tip to tip or west to east.

We will be able to visit many of the small towns and villages this world-

class trail passes through. With several hundred kilometers of

groomed trails also joining into the Confederation Trail riders will

experience a busy three days of great Island hospitality,

entertainment, terrific food and the Island culture and people.

Departing from the community of Brackley Beach, day one’s ride will

encompass the eastern trail system visiting small fishing villages and

historic sites. We will return to the host hotel, North Winds Inns and

Suites for rest, dinner and hospitality.

Day two, riders will experience the west end of the Island and see the

well known “West Point Loop”. Here there are huge wind mills and wide

open potato fields. Night two will find all riders in Summerside at our

host, The Loyalist Country Inn, also host of the 2009 International

Snowmobile Congress. A Casino is planned for everyone’s

entertainment.

The final day, day three of riding, will be in the central region of PEI.

Many of the trails will be off of the Confederation Trail that are

cross-country and will include multiple lodging roads and coast line

trails. All riders will conclude the trip back to Brackley Beach on the

evening of Friday, February 21st.
